a protest will look stupid, without doubt

the more i think of it, mccleish will not be our next manager

I'm all for free speech, but anyone who takes part in this is an absolute knobhead.  Grow a pair and get over it.

Agreed.

"All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing."

We've regularly disagreed, Tone,, but get a grip man "evil"?

It is just a famous quote - not all of it to be taken literally.
c90% of the fans dont want him, so why not get down to VP and say so.

I'm fully aware of the words of Edmund Burke, it's just not appropriate.

My protest will be to stop going. I've missed maybe 3 games in 15 years at Villa Park but this is too much.

Can't blame anyone for protesting, I think it's more about venting frustration than thinking they can achieve something.

Do you mean 90% of Villa fans don't want him, or 90% of the people who voted on this site don't want him?
There's a bit of a difference, don't you think?

I'd have thought 90% was a conversative estimate

I don't know how this would help? If we employ him we are just adding to the pressure are we not?
You can not crucify someone without giving them a chance. You might not agree with the appointment but its not going to change the boards mind. I'm sure we are making a mistake, but maybe we are not and its up to the new manager to prove us wrong.

If there are pictures on Sky Sports News of moronic idiots protesting tomorrow, I think I may actually be embarrassed about my club for the first time in my life.

In this case, no I don't.

We'll appoint a new manager, whether its McLeish or someone else.
He'll say positive things in his press conference.
The fixture list will be revealed for the new season.
We'll buy some exciting new players.
The season will start and we'll all be there as usual.

We'll get over it, for God's sake!

So if 10,000 turn up tomorrow it wont make a difference.  I beg to differ.

But they won't though, will they.  There'll be a couple of people waving sheets of A4 around and chanting some witless song thought up at the last minute, the rest of the crowd will be made up of spotty herberts trying to get their dozy mugs on SSN as if it's transfer deadline day.

If it's McLeish:

We'll buy some shit players
We'll struggle to score goals
We'll be hovering around the wrong end of the table.

What exciting new players will want to join us now? And based on this managerial appointment can we afford them anyway? If Mcleish is there I won't be. I'll come back when the nightmare is over.

Should we run a 'Guess The Crowd' for the protest?

I'm going to say around 50.
