Available Sunday 11.5.14 @2pm. Last one of the season, thank McGrath.
-
Not the actual team!
Guzan, Lowton, Vlaar, Baker, Bertrand, Bacuna, Westwood, Delph, Weimann, Bowery, El Ahmadi.
-
Well I'm inspired.
-
Team now changed to
Guzan, Lowton, Vlaar, Baker, Bertrand, Bacuna, Westwood, Delph, Weimann, Bowery, Agbonlahor
-
Two Jack Grealish's!
subs: Subs: Steer, Sylla, Holt, Robinson, Grealish, Grealish, Clark, El Ahmadi.
-
Fantastic, we cocked up announcing the starting 11 and then did the same with the subs.
It amused me anyway.
-
Come on Villa, win to end this miserable season and probably Lambert's reign.
-
Spuds
Lloris; Naughton, Chiriches, Dawson, Rose; Sandro; Sigurdsson, Paulinho, Eriksen; Adebayor, Kane.
Subs: Friedel, Fryers, Veljkovic, Bentaleb, Capoue, Pritchard, Soldado.
-
What a blessed relief that this game is about as important and meaningful as when we go and play FC Dallas in July.
-
where's Marc ?
-
where's Marc ?
Think he has a groin injury.
-
It looks to be the 4-4-2 diamond with Weimann being put up for a toasting as the number 10. He got 2 against Hull, came closest at the Etihad, so why not?
Not as bad as the five at the back idea but could have been a lot more inspired. Daniel Johnson has no future at VP as long as Lambert is manager it seems.
-
What a blessed relief that this game is about as important and meaningful as when we go and play FC Dallas in July.
even less so. I am praying that by the time we try on our first stetson we will have a filthy rich new owner (i.e richer than the current filthy rich owner) and a manager in place playing 21st century football.
And I assume at some point Helenius must have shit in Lambert's coffee. He has become Berson.
-
Aside from Bowery for Benteke, that's effectively our best side. Shit, isn't it?!
-
where's Marc ?
He was touch and go for this game.
-
Lambert boring as usual, what a great chance this was to give either Robinson or Grealish a start
-
Baker again I really don't get it
-
Aside from Bowery for Benteke, that's effectively our best side. Shit, isn't it?!
Even if Okore isn't the second coming that we all hope, I think he's still likely to be better than Baker.
-
It looks like a 433. Not looking forward to this game at all.
-
Aside from Bowery for Benteke, that's effectively our best side.
Okore and N'Zogbia, possibly Kozak, would be pushing for places.
I was hoping at least one of Robinson or Grealish would get a start though.
-

Okore gets better every week he doesn't play.

Okore gets better every week he doesn't play.
Normally I'd agree with that sentiment, but in this case I can pretty much guarantee he's a lot better than Baker.
-
Robinson and Grealish have had their tasters. I've have had Donacienin there or at least on the bench for the last 20 minutes or so.
-

Isn't a win potentially worth up to 6m?

That'll get us 5 Jordan Bowerys.
What a thought.
-
Bowery and Baker again ... jesus wept.
And no I don't think Bowery's been excellent of late. Put a great shift in against Hull but was wank against City and exposed for the pub level player he clearly is. How does a striker that hasn't scored in two years get in a Premiership team ?
And why on earth is this on the box ?
-
I think it may be a diamond. Spuds don't really have a defensive midfielder so Weimann could get some joy
But it doesn't really matter and I still hope we get to see a bit of grealish and Robinson
-
Scrap that they've got Sandro i see.
-
Bowery and Baker aren't good enough, I'm hoping this is the last time I'll see them starting for us.
-
Thank god this season is almost over.
Problem is I've felt this way for the last 4 years!!
-
Spuds
Lloris; Naughton, Chiriches, Dawson, Rose; Sandro; Sigurdsson, Paulinho, Eriksen; Adebayor, Kane.
Subs: Friedel, Fryers, Veljkovic, Bentaleb, Capoue, Pritchard, Soldado.
You sure?
-
God we are a rubbish side aren't we?!
A good £30m on 5 players would only bring it up to mid table level. It needs about £50 with wages to match to be anywhere close to top 8
-
Lambert boring as usual, what a great chance this was to give either Robinson or Grealish a start
Exactly. Sums this guy up. Why not give those two lads a chance
Bye lambert, enjoy your last day
-

You sure?
Nope, I just copied what Villa posted. Did they fuck up the Spuds side as well?
-

Going through the motions. Stick a team out, get it over with.
-
ffs Lambert at least give the young ones a game , why not , it means f**k all this game
the sooner has has gone the better , hes like a stale smell around here
-
Thought he would have played the young ones and really gone all out for a win in what could possibly be his last game for us
-
Afternoon all. Up the Villa! (But meh!)
-
Aside from Bowery for Benteke, that's effectively our best side. Shit, isn't it?!
I think that pretty much sums up the almost total lack of quality.
-
A crap team picked by a crap manager desperate to equal last seasons total.
-
And we lose possession from a throw in yet again
Twice
-
Pretty poor show that the Villa players couldn't be bothered to get a collection, or even a leaving card, for Paul Lambert on his last day in the job.
-
The end of this game cant come quick enough
-
Spuds should have scored there. Adebayor looking a handful for our defence.
-
As usual our defence is all over the place.
-
And again. Poor defending
-
Gabby looks like Ming the Merciless with his beard
-
We really are piss poor aren't we? Great noise from the travelling faithful though.
-
All over us like a cheap suit! This is going to be painful.
-
We are cack
-
If Ellison is there as it is rumoured, I hope the deal has been signed or watching this shite he might change his mind
-
All Spurs so far. No surprise there then
-
I am going for a kip.
-
Fans sound in good voice on the wireless. And we go one down.
-
1-0 Spurs.
-
*Sigh*
-
There's the first
-
There's that horrible Spurs dirge
-
ah 1-0, ripped apart there.
-
Shockingly shit. Can't pass it. Can't defend.
Like a hot knife through butter.
-
Classic Lowton positioning for that goal.
-
We're playing like a team that knows it's going to have a new owner on Monday
-
Meh
-
same old same old
we go again
-
I don't think I've ever given less of a shit about anything ever.
-
Sounds like we are going to get twatted here.
-
1-0 to them. hey-ho. Knife through soft butter defence
-
Should have been 2
-
The end cannot come quick enough.
-
sitter by spurrzz
we are awful
-
We are absolute rubbish. Christ on a bike.
-
Think I might watch one of the other games. This might not be pleasant.
-
We're playing like a team that knows it's going to have a new owner on Monday
I don't know about that, but they're certainly playing like a bunch of players that really couldn't give a flying fuck. Again.
-
We got to 15 minutes without conceding, what the hell are you all moaning about?
-
We are absolute wank.
-
This is going to be a fucking cricket score if we are not careful
-
I think ill take a 5-0 win now for spurzz
-
We're going to get twatted here
-
If Ellison is there as it is rumoured, I hope the deal has been signed or watching this shite he might change his mind
Where's this from?
-
We're playing like a team that knows it's going to have a new owner on Monday
We better be a team under new ownership soon, because we are in a terminal decline at the moment.
-
What the fuck are the players doing.
It's hoofball every time and every time we lose it. Spurs should be 4-0 up already.
-
You know when Apple do those product reveals, and Steve Jobs used to finish, then be walking off stage, only to turn back and say "Oh, just one more thing ..." and he'd introduce something amazing, like the first ipod or iphone or something?
That's what this game is to this season.
"Just one more thing .... another reminder of how utterly shit you are"
-
A win against a half arsed Hull and a draw in 9 games. It's a shambles.
-
Has the Surs 'keeper touched it yet?
-
If Ellison is there as it is rumoured, I hope the deal has been signed or watching this shite he might change his mind
Is there any substance to that at all?
-
Classic Lowton positioning for that goal.
He is a lazy twat he just stood and watched, absolutely no effort to win back the ball!!!!
-
Is Baker colour blind ? Lose count the number of times he passes to the opposition
-
Has the Spurs keeper fucked off for a crafty fag?
-
A win against a half arsed Hull and a draw in 9 games. It's a shambles.
It's a fucking good thing we did win it.
-
Newcastle score, snigger...
-
Thankfully the season has ended two games too soon. Because if there was two games left I am convinced Norwich would have passed us.
-
We need another clear out
-
I know it's the last game and we're safe and all that, so I suppose it doesn't matter all that much today, but again, just like all season, the players look like they quite simply haven't seen each other all week, let alone done any training.
I mean, I know the Karsa/Culverhouse thing seems to suggest that they actually haven't done any training, but none-the-less, it's routinely, unrelentingly awful.
-
Thankfully the season has ended two games too soon. Because if there was two games left I am convinced Norwich would have passed us.
I agree entirely.
-
Lambert's lions , don't you just love them
-
What the hell are we doing !!!???
-
Poor by Baker, then Lowton then Guzan
-
Newcastle winning
-
Not bothered paying the subscription for a service to watch it even. I just don't want to now it means nothing. I just hope the start of next season brings excitement to us.
-
Thankfully the season has ended two games too soon. Because if there was two games left I am convinced Norwich would have passed us.
Yep. Like others have already done.
-
Stoke one up on the Bitters
-
1-0 down nice and early. Same as it ever was
-
Stoke one up on the Bitters
Own goal as well, to make it a bit funnier.
-
Singing about John Carew now.
Ah the good times.
-
Glad I turned down a ticket to this one
Predict 4-0 spurs
-
Come on the lads!!
Pick yourselves up and go again!
-
Not bothered paying the subscription for a service to watch it even. I just don't want to now it means nothing. I just hope the start of next season brings excitement to us.
Excitement? I'd settle for the absence of dread.
-
1-0 down nice and early. Same as it ever was
1st time they've scored in the first 15 mins all season apparently!
-
No wonder our clueless one intends being at Villa next season, he'd never get a job as good as this again!
-
Bowery is immense.
-
Gabby is really thinning on top. I think he needs to start thinking about going shorter than the grade one he presently has.
-
Well we're doing "better" now. Haven't felt like Spurs should have scored for about 5 minutes.
Oh wait, they probably should have scored there. Nevermind.
-
Do our players actually know each other? They can't seem to be able to pass the ball to each other, surely the fact they arrived on the same bus and wear the same kits should be a clue.
-
I really wanted Lambert to be the one. To succeed where others had failed. I really just want him gone now and I am sad to say that about yet another Villa manager.
-
Nice move, then lose ball cheaply and ripped apart on the break!
-
One of the many problems with Lowton is that he is so rarely in his position that Vlaar has to do his own job and Lowton's
-
(https://pbs.twimg.com/media/BnXIUd3IAAAtp_N.jpg:large)
Brilliant!
-
The fans are comfortably the best thing about this club.
-
They're brains are only capable of sideways pass-back football i'm afraid
-
(https://pbs.twimg.com/media/BnXIUd3IAAAtp_N.jpg:large)
Brilliant!
Is that Larry Ellison?
-
One of the many problems with Lowton is that he is so rarely in his position that Vlaar has to do his own job and Lowton's
and Baker's.
-
"We lose every week! We lose very week! You're nothing special! We lose every week!"
-
I really wanted Lambert to be the one. To succeed where others had failed. I really just want him gone now and I am sad to say that about yet another Villa manager.
Ditto
-
Hope this our poor half, otherwise god help us !
-
"We lose every week! We lose very week! You're nothing special! We lose every week!"
Just heard that. Absolutely class. This season the fans have been superb
-
Iain Dowie?
-
"We lose every week! We lose very week! You're nothing special! We lose every week!"
Are we really singing that? Ha!
Deserves to go viral.
-
(https://pbs.twimg.com/media/BnXIUd3IAAAtp_N.jpg:large)
Brilliant!
Is that Larry Ellison?
I hope not. If that's our new owner we're going to be a laughing stock. He's got hairy hands and a hairy face.
-
Gabby needs to switch with Weimann like right now.
-
This all reminds me of the turd I just had. I was excited about it but ended up seeing crap everywhere. EVERYWHERE.
-
Bowery has absolutely no pace, does he?
-
Why has he shoved Andi out on the left wing again?!?! He's the only one who looks capable of scoring! No wonder he's been pissed off this season, even with Benteke out he doesn't play up front.
-
2-0 Spurs.
-
Christ on a bike. Pitiful!
-
Boom, and there you go.
Truly pathetic
-
Comedy defending again
-
Ah 2-0.
-
This is absolutely pathetic.
-
60 league goals conceded this season, oh dear.
-
Defending like fucking pussies.
-
Klinsmann out
-
how the fcuk did we stay up
proper championship side
we were lucky , we wont be next season
-
2-0 and still over an hour to go!!! This could get ugly
-
I never want to see Baker and Lowton play for Villa again.
-
It's just so depressing, it really is.
-
Baker the legend with a bullet header
-
Nearly 3
-
*sigh*
-
Baker scores on his last appearance for the club, call me sentimental but I think that's quite nice for him really
-
I can see them scoring seven.
-
Bowery has absolutely no pace, does he?
Or any attributes really.
-
it is like we are trying to be shit at times.
-
Penalty Spuds.
-
Penalty.
-
Penalty
-
Aaaand…a penalty. For fucks sake.
-
Fuck off. Penalty.
-
Lambert's reign ending in glory
-
You have got to laugh haven't you. Haven't you?
-
It just gets better and better.
-
Now a pen
-
3-0. Fucks sake.
-
I think this could well be 7 or 8 now.
-
Perhaps we might beat the record set by Ipswich? Another milestone in the Lambert era.
-
You could easily watch us and if you didn't know assume we are a League 2 side.
-
What the actual fuck
-
Dear dear me.
-
What a load of rubbish
-
3-0
sack the f**ker at half time , please
-
Well there it is. The season ends with the dampest, squelchiest of squibs. I expect Lambert will be gone by the morning.
-
Let's just get this season over with.
-
Utter shit.
-
Well, this is fun.
-
Who would want to buy this pile of steaming wank, unless they intend to come in sack the fucking lot of them.
-
Theres really no redeeming features about this are there?
-
The evidence just stacks up by the game.
-
Villa fans singing "sacked in the morning"
-
You could easily watch us and if you didn't know assume we are a League 2 side.
As good as that!
-
It's just so depressing, it really is.
No. I'm going to take the positive approach from this point on and just think thoughts of hopefully a post Lambert /Lerner future. Because any other thoughts I'll be taking a bath with a toaster.
-
we've lost 20 games this year. Woeful
-
What a fucking joke we are
-
This could get really, really bad.
-
Meanwhile on a different planet where they play football, Man City go one up
-
Lamberts legacy
What a bunch of twats
-
Is it Villa fans singing 'sacked in the morning'?
Fair play if so. He deserves the stick.
-
Your getting sacked in the morning, oh dear
-
Good grief we are shit.
-
re set the poll!
-
Sacked in the morning
Sung by the Villa fans
-
Who would want to buy this pile of steaming wank, unless they intend to come in sack the fucking lot of them.
There is barely one of them I would keep. Even the better ones are just less shit than the others
-
Only just logged in. Is Randy there?
-
The new owner has asked for his deposit back.
-
Lolz upon lolz
-
This is a lot of fun - not
-
I'd be back in the pub now if I was there .
As expected - woeful .
-
This is beyond awful
-
Any remaining patience with Lambert has gone as he does a McLeish in the final game. Fuck all to play for and he goes totally negative rather than try and do something that might spark interest. Goodbye Mr Lambert.
-
First gave i've watched live since the Chelsea home game, the difference is utterly amazing. There is no redeeming feature to this the management, players, attitude, apititude, tactics, passing..... just everything is wrong wrong wrong.
-
Sacked in the morning
Sung by the Villa fans
I'm not sure if they weren't singing it to Sherwood though.
-
can you forfeit the game and lose 3-0 or is that just something on FIFA?
-
They'll need to pay me to go watch this shit next season, nothing will drastically change playing wise.
-
At one stage after about 25 minutes we had a good spell of pressure but as usual we lacked the invention in the final third.
Now it's just the usual complete bollocks.
-
Villa fans singing "sacked in the morning"
He shouldn't last till the morning. He should be told he has to make his own travel arrangements to get home tonight.
-
absolute toss. I've turned it off. I cant even be bothered to waste any more time on them. garbage.
-
Villa fans singing "sacked in the morning"
How shit is this when even our own fans are taking the piss out of us. thank god its the last game of the season.
-
Yes, Andi scores 2 v Hull as a striker, hits the post v Cieth - so what do you do ply him left mid"....
-
We have been so much better since we sacked the coaches! (winky thingy)
-
Any remaining patience with Lambert has gone as he does a McLeish in the final game. Fuck all to play for and he goes totally negative rather than try and do something that might spark interest. Goodbye Mr Lambert.
And there are still people on various Villa sites saying he should be given a chance...
-
(http://why-ed.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/fuck-this-shit-duck.jpg)
i'm going to watch Heroes on Netflix
-
We will have lost by three goals or more six times this year, words escape me.....
-
'In danger of equaling our worst Premier League points total', the commentator says. In danger!! I 'd say absolutely certain to equal.
-
Any remaining patience with Lambert has gone as he does a McLeish in the final game. Fuck all to play for and he goes totally negative rather than try and do something that might spark interest. Goodbye Mr Lambert.
And there are still people on various Villa sites saying he should be given a chance...
And there are some still gloating they were right all along and seemingly enjoying us being shit. Some weird and sad fuckers around on the internet.
-
Credit to anyone who has paid £40+ to watch this embarrassing shite every week for the last 3-4 seasons.
-
Is there ACTUALLY another team in this division that is so much of a fucking pushover, with such a lack of fight or passion.
I really don't think there is.
-
The way it's going Lambert could beat the 8-0 record set at Chelsea last season .We are so bad its hard to believe
-
"This is a performance that must anger Paul Lambert"
The worst thing is, that judging by his previous statements it most likely doesn't
-
Please make it stop.
-
For me it really looks like our players are really trying to get Lambert fired, anyone else seeing this based on how our players play?
-
Well this perfectly sums up the last 4 years, an utter shambles.
-
Worst Villa team in my time.
(Been watching since we last got relegated). We need a least 3 proper prem signings if they are going to stay up next year and a new manager.
-
We want our villa back, being sung by the fans.
-
complete and utter wank. I'm off to the pub to laugh at liverpool fans and pray for better news tomorrow. see ya chaps!
-
Now singing "We want our Villa back"
-
For me it really looks like our players are really trying to get Lambert fired, anyone else seeing this based on how our players play?
Players should not be without blame. If this is the case they can all fuck off. They are playing for our team on mega wages.
-
We want our Villa back, sings the fans
-
For God sake, take Baker off. Worst Villa defender ever?
-
"We want our Villa back"
Please.
-
Delph doesn't bother to challenge Dawson, nearly cost us.
-
We're shipping so many goals lately.
-
"This is a performance that must anger Paul Lambert"
The worst thing is, that judging by his previous statements it most likely doesn't
Exactly, he will say how superb we were
Please god let this statement say we're being sold and also Lamberts gone
Lambert shouldn't return for the second half
-
We're just a poor team. The defence has gone to pot since Stoke game and we are completely toothless upfront since Benteke got injured.
There are major problems at this club and we will go down next season unless we get a takeover imo.
-
Dawson free header
-
is it still 3-0?
-
I don't think he'll survive this.
-
Complete respect to the fans who are there. Some great singing.
-
Fuck me. A shot
-
is it still 3-0?
Only just.
What annoys me most isn't the scoreline, it's the fact that Spurs are showing all the urgency of a training match, and pissing it easily.
-
Gotta love the gallows humour of the Villa fans who are at the game.
-
Worst Villa team in my time.
(Been watching since we last got relegated). We need a least 3 proper prem signings if they are going to stay up next year and a new manager.
Indeed, and I've been watching since 72. We have been comfortably worse than the 86/87 team for much of the season and Lambert is fast assuming the mantle of worst manager, or at least on a par with the worst
-
I can't believe I put the kids down for a nap and turned off Peppa Pig to watch this crap. It was a repeat of the infamous boys v girls derby where the girls won 1-0 thanks to an own goal by Richard Rabbit as well.
-
Once upon a time I supported a football club. Frustratingly inconsistent, serial underachieving, but a football club who would give me a good season every other one. Would give me something to look forward to. Now we're just a collection of mediocrity marking time for the inevitable relegation.
-
Stream closed. I'm going to decorate the bathroom.
-
In fact, since lambert has been in charge we've lost by 3 or more goals 12 times.
-
"This is a performance that must anger Paul Lambert"
The worst thing is, that judging by his previous statements it most likely doesn't
Exactly, he will say how superb we were
Please god let this statement say we're being sold and also Lamberts gone
Lambert shouldn't return for the second half
"We competed exceptionally for 15 minutes"
-
I lost interest after the 2nd goal. They're too embarrassing and a complete waste of time continuing.
-
"What the fucking hell was that"
-
WBA and Hull both losing so 15th looks safe. Oh the pride of it all.
-
Fuck me. A shot
Villa fans cheering and bouncing up and down to simulate us scoring a goal!
-
Any guesses what Lambert will say to the lads at half time?
-
I can't believe I put the kids down for a nap and turned off Peppa Pig to watch this crap. It was a repeat of the infamous boys v girls derby where the girls won 1-0 thanks to an own goal by Richard Rabbit as well.
Made me smile.
-
Stream closed. I'm going to decorate the bathroom.
Sensible.
-
Turned it off. The away fans were, as they have been all season, absolutely magnificent.
Roll on tomorrow.
-
For God sake, take Baker off. Worst Villa defender ever?
Pretty close, and I've seen plenty.
-
It's funny I have no interest in this game bar looking on here and having final score on but I'm not listening to it on the radio nor have gone down to watch it at the pub.
Was maybe hoping Spurs wouldn't be bothered and we could maybe nick a positive result to end the season at least positively but no a half bothered Spurs are battering us and I'd be amazed if this doesn't get to 5.
-
Can you sack a manager at half time?
Now seems like a good time.
-
Any guesses what Lambert will say to the lads at half time?
"You're on or own, I quit".
But they won't understand him.
-
what if nothing changes though. that's the real meltdown
-
Well there is no need to not see to that bathroom problem I have been putting off.
-
Not watching but have to agree with Matt law's tweet: not sure I've seen a worse defender in the premier league this season than Nathan baker
He's just 100% undoubtedly not good enough
-
We really are a very very poor team. How can we beat the likes of Arsenal, Citeh and Chelsea and yet be SO bad the rest of the time
-
Thank God this season is nearly over. Spurs to win 5-0. Four years of shit. I hope the fans at the game let the world know how we are feeling.
-
This is hopeless. As soon as this season is done with we've got to do something about this bloody squad. Absolute tosh.
Guzan, Vlaar, Delph and Benteke are the only players you can safely call Premiership standard.
Gabby has been decent in the past but is in decline, but perhaps there's a faint glimmer of hope he'll be a squad player of use. N'Zogbia could possibly prove useful still, with a better manager in place who can get us attacking better. Okore could be decent. Clarks an okay backup. Givens worth keeping as a backup keeper. Kozaks an okay squad option. Albrightons done okay but it may not be worth renewing to be honest.
Everyone else range from mediocre just piss poor. The sort of overhaul we need to do is major. For me, none of Baker, Lowton, KEA, Westwood, Bacuna, Tonev, Sylla, Bowery, Weimann, Bennett or Luna are good enough and never will be.
The sooner we acknowledge this transfer policy has been a disaster the better. We need new ownership. We need new management. I can't take another year of this shite.
-
Not even playing for pride now.
-
Smackdown is on the other channel. I've put that on instead.
-
For God sake, take Baker off. Worst Villa defender ever?
Pretty close, and I've seen plenty.
Ray Walker may just shade it I feel
-
Embarrassing. An absolute shower of shite.
-
Gotta love the gallows humour of the Villa fans who are at the game.
You have to do something to take your mind off the game but full credit to them!
-
Sunderland said they needed a miracle to stay up and got it , I would suggest 2 miracles happened because how we stayed up is beyond me.We are utter shit.
Also as I suspect mr Lambert will be departing I thank him for already starting a new bomb squad ..Tonev / Helenius and Luna ...
-
This statement better be good else we may as well already give up next season.
Villa out!
-
We really are a very very poor team. How can we beat the likes of Arsenal, Citeh and Chelsea and yet be SO bad the rest of the time
Was thinking exactky that.....And the game against WBA , I'm upset yet confused !
-
Cardiff beating Chavski
-
Any manager who picks Baker over Clark deserves the sack. Never, ever want to see him play for Villa again.
-
And PeterWithesShin your sarcasm is not called for !!!!
-
Its a sad day that I couldn't bring myself to watch the game today just had enough and if nothing changes I won't be renewing like many others.
-
Must we go through this every time? We all know we're crap so roll on 5pm. That's all I'm going to say on it.
-
Guzan, Vlaar, Delph and Benteke are the only players you can safely call Premiership standard.
Vlaar's shite, he just looks good compared to those around him. Have a look at where he was for the first goal - AWOL and completely clueless.
-
Villa fans myself included have been fully mugged off this season and the piss ripped out of them by this shower.
Glad I didn't go to last 2 games.
-
Absolute minimum proper experienced premier league players to avoid the drop next season -5. Left back, right back, centre back, defensive mid and creative mid.Oh and a proper experienced premier league manager to.
Do one Lambert_now!
-
This looks like a 6-7- 8-0 we are shocking Goobye PL.
Nothing from midfield No deffence and No attack. Absolute clueless. He knows he is a gonna.
-
For God sake, take Baker off. Worst Villa defender ever?
Pretty close, and I've seen plenty.
Ray Walker may just shade it I feel
You never saw Cammie Fraser!
-
In all seriousness, the only positive to come from this next half would be if Grealish came on. But Lambo won't do that cause you..... he's shit a football management.
-
Vlaar was excellent till Xmas and Clark was decent. But form has dropped off
But not surprising if you face a constant barrage and your colleagues' positioning is so bad.
-
Absolute minimum proper experienced premier league players to avoid the drop next season -5. Left back, right back, centre back, defensive mid and creative mid.Oh and a proper experienced premier league manager to.

Given the need for some semblance of a squad, I'd say about 17

You never saw Cammie Fraser!
Not quite as old as you Ron!
-
He's surely going to be sacked this evening, isn't he? I mean, he absolutely can't survive a season like this, can he?
He'll be sacked, and he knows it.
Right?
-
Seven goals conceded in one and a half games says it all.
-
The tiniest crumb of comfort I know but Liverpool's meltdown is the biggest choke since Mama Cass.
-
He's surely going to be sacked this evening, isn't he? I mean, he absolutely can't survive a season like this, can he?
He'll be sacked, and he knows it.
Right?
Well you'd hope so. There really is no point in him staying here for 1 minute more that he has to. Do the press conference then fuck off.
-
Seven goals conceded in one and a half games says it all.
As it stands its 23 against in last 9 games. If Spurs score one more we'll have conceded 4 in a game 5 times in that spell.
-
He's surely going to be sacked this evening, isn't he? I mean, he absolutely can't survive a season like this, can he?
He'll be sacked, and he knows it.
Right?
Doubt it will be tonight.
-
What's the chances of beating the 8-0 record?
-
Guzan, Vlaar, Delph and Benteke are the only players you can safely call Premiership standard.
Vlaar's shite, he just looks good compared to those around him. Have a look at where he was for the first goal - AWOL and completely clueless.
I think he's okay. He's just about good enough at this level. I think part of his problem is fitness. Too many niggles and injuries and he's the sort of player that could probably only manage 20 games every season. Despite already having a spell out injured this season, I think he's looked tired in the last month.
I'd sell him at the drop of a hat though. We most certainly need better as our defensive lynchpin. He's not a patch on a Mellberg or a Laursen. Not within a country mile. That's the quality we need to hold our backline together.
-
This is why emigrating to Australia made so much sense - it's 12:57 - i've drank too much wine and my senses are numb
If i keep going i'll destroy the brain cell that held the memory of this this game entirely
If Lerner / Lamber stay - i'll have to drink still more heavily next year
every cloud and all that!
-

Just fuck off would be my suggestion...
-
Lerner wont sack him, he'll leave that to the next owner of AVFC.
-
Sacked in the morning
Sung by the Villa fans
Aimed at Tim Sherwood I believe, cos he's grinning like an idiot, the idiot. Don't know why but I really dislike the bloke.
-
He's surely going to be sacked this evening, isn't he? I mean, he absolutely can't survive a season like this, can he?
He'll be sacked, and he knows it.
Right?
Without a doubt. I'm sure he knew last week, his last interview after the match was very different and so much more honest about the club and how it needs to improve.
-
I feel such a gulf between myself and the club at the moment. Who the fuck are half of these players?!
-
Bowery is off I hope that's the last time he plays for Villa.
-
Guzan, Vlaar, Delph and Benteke are the only players you can safely call Premiership standard.

I'd like to see Vlaar with a decent defensive partner alongside him. Should have been Dunne last season and Okore this. Instead he's had Baker or Clark to contend with. I'd give him another season
-
Hull are 0-2 so at least one team above the bottom 3 that we should finish above.
-
Inspired substitution!
The blokes a joke.
-
And PeterWithesShin your sarcasm is not called for !!!!
I wasn't being sarcastic.
-
Hull two down
-
Booooooooooo
-
KEA. Bless.
-
MON's in the crowd....
Next spuds boss?
-
I don't understand why all of our headers in and around the halfway line go to the opposition. Seriously, watch it invite swcond half. It's like they all try and head it as far forward as possible, not realising that will almost always go to the opposition defence
-
I just can't believe how we're in this position again. We've not yet got shot of our mediocre high earners and now we'll have to get rid of almost a squad's worth of shite low-earners.
-
Pathetic substitution. So negative. He truly is turning into McLeish.
Why not try and improve our attack? At least try and score a goal or two. Spurs can't defend. They're gonna score more regardless, we might as well finish with a bang ffs.
-
MON's in the crowd....
Next spuds boss?
Come to gloat - he'll be telling everyone sitting near him 'I got these in the top 6, you know'
-
And Man City two up, incredible feat them winning the league really when you think about it, amazing that they've managed it...
-
2-0 City
-
And just when things can't get any worse....they zoom in for a strung out close up on Martin o fucking Neil's ugly head
-
KEA. Bless.
I think he's actually taking the piss now...
-
No one wants the ball, they're terrified.
-
MON's in the crowd....

Oh for those days though.....
-
I just can't believe how we're in this position again. We've not yet got shot of our mediocre high earners and now we'll have to get rid of almost a squad's worth of shite low-earners.
We're going to have so many shit players to shift, we'll have to build a second training ground for them to sit around playing FIFA and online shopping in, whilst our new squad trains.
-
The tiniest crumb of comfort I know but Liverpool's meltdown is the biggest choke since Mama Cass.
Talking of Mama Cass. 'Monday Monday so good to me'. Well it had better be!
-
Lerner wont sack him, he'll leave that to the next owner of AVFC.
Exactly, it just wouldnt make financial sense, unless of course, the prospective buyers were to make it a pre-condition of sale that "Lerner hires, Lerner fires", in which case.....
-
Did Bowery actually touch the ball?
-
And Man City two up, incredible feat them winning the league really when you think about it, amazing that they've managed it...
When we were holding on for dear live vs City on Sky on Weds, their commentator actually had the temerity to describe City's fans as "long suffering." Geezus i'd take some of their pain that they've gone through in the last 4-5 years.
-
There's an ad on my stream by the score graphic that says "Knob Greek"
I have no idea why it's there, but it's been the most entertaining aspect of this match so far.
-
Lerner wont sack him, he'll leave that to the next owner of AVFC.
Exactly, it just wouldnt make financial sense, unless of course, the prospective buyers were to make it a pre-condition of sale that "Lerner hires, Lerner fires", in which case.....
It doesn't really make any difference.
It would be the club sacking him, not Lerner himself (legally).
-
Did Bowery actually touch the ball?
Who?
-
The worst, scariest thing about sacking Lambert is wondering just how much it would actually improve things in any case.
These players are performing worse than they could, but they're mostly barely good enough in any case.
-
Norwich one down, we might stay up yet, keep the faith!
-
I just can't believe how we're in this position again. We've not yet got shot of our mediocre high earners and now we'll have to get rid of almost a squad's worth of shite low-earners.

On the plus side, they'll be able to do the first team squad briefings in the boot room.

We've got a lot of players that are virtually worthless to us. At least the loan signings can be sent back.
-
We are undoubtably the worst side in the Premiership, how the f**k we didn't get relegated is an absolute miracle!
-
My str**m has "Knob Creek" emblazoned across the screen.
Schadenfreude.
-
What a total and utter mess Randy Lerner has presided over. A grand failure.
-
And Man City two up, incredible feat them winning the league really when you think about it, amazing that they've managed it...

It seems such a short time ago that we were one up against them, courtesy of John Carew. At that point we were ahead of them in the table. They then turned the game on its head and beat us 3-1, and since then, the turnaround in both clubs has been frightening, and for us, very depressing.
-
Yep. I'm in the Vlaar is shit camp he is awful
-

If we could hire someone who could, say, be arsed enough to do some coaching during the week, then I reckon we'd see some improvement. Even if it was just players moving around at throw-ins and that.
It's giddy ambition, I know, but we can hope.
-
Sunderland 1-3 Swansea. If they ship a few more we may be above them on goal difference. Straws firmly being clutched at.
-

Reminds me of a Chelsea fan saying how unlucky they had been until they had some luck in the European Cup Final against Bayern. I had to remind him just where they might have been without the Russian crook though in fairness I don't think he was supporting them then
-
My str**m has "Knob Creek" emblazoned across the screen.
Schadenfreude.
That's the one that I'm watching.
My knobs just disappeared though.
-
Yep. I'm in the Vlaar is shit camp he is awful
I'm sorry, but if Vlaar is awful how would you describe Baker, Lowton and Bowery?
-
Will fucking shit do?
-
As it stands we were safe after the Chavski match. Staggering how shit the bottom of the division is.
-
Yep. I'm in the Vlaar is shit camp he is awful
I wouldn't say he's awful - he's had a good season for us, relatively speaking. But his hapless performances at the Euros just before we signed him were cause for concern. I think we should hold on to him. Playing alongside such flakes in the back four would dent anyone's confidence.
-
Yep. I'm in the Vlaar is shit camp he is awful
He's no Freddie Bouma that's for sure.
-
Yep. I'm in the Vlaar is shit camp he is awful

Worse than Vlaar
-

Even more awful.

I had that earlier. I was going to post 'we're up Knob Creek without a piddle' but thought better of it
-
MON's in the crowd....
Next spuds boss?
Come to gloat - he'll be telling everyone sitting near him 'I got these in the top 6, you know'
Oh for those days though.....
With 20:20 hindsight the moment he walked was the moment we should have realised that Lerner had given up.
-
Watch West Brom finish above us now.
-
Our away fans are just incredible. and funny. ooooh Delphy
-
WBA 1-1 now.
-
Vlaar is good player needing to play with equally good and better players. Not the utter gash that has now and often has to compensate for. It makes him look worse than he actually is.
-
Yep. I'm in the Vlaar is shit camp he is awful
He's no Freddie Bouma that's for sure.
Ah I loved Freddie Bouma. Great times.
-
Our away fans are just incredible. and funny. ooooh Delphy
Indeed and all the commentator could say was Villa fans voicing their dissent
-

For me he's in the good enough for crossover camp. Keep in on a year or two while we rebuild (from pretty much square one again).
In terms of players like Baker though. They shouldn't play for us again. Nowhere near the standard required, and offer nothing.
-
Lerner wont sack him, he'll leave that to the next owner of AVFC.

Yes but as i`ve said elswhere, the club would have to settle up in our out of court (remember MON), which, bearing in mind, would probably cost a Million or so, all that comes off the bottom-line valuation of the club, so somewhere along the line Randy foots the bill bless him.
-
Vlaar would be fine next to some decent defenders.
-
My str**m has "Knob Creek" emblazoned across the screen.
Schadenfreude.
That's the one that I'm watching.
My knobs just disappeared though.
I can still see Lambert in the dugout, Tom...
-
Yep. I'm in the Vlaar is shit camp he is awful
I'm sorry, but if Vlaar is awful how would you describe Baker, Lowton and Bowery?
Extremely shit.
-
How much money on an O'Neill return?
-
Just read MON is at WHL watching the game. Oh the fucking irony.
-
Playing Baker over Clark for most of the second half of the season is brain dead in the extreme. Some of the things like injuries this season Lambert can't be blame for but you can certainly pin that on him. Clueless.
-
Yep. I'm in the Vlaar is shit camp he is awful
I'm sorry, but if Vlaar is awful how would you describe Baker, Lowton and Bowery?
Even more awful.
Awfuler?
-
Our fans celebrating wildly any attempt at goal is very amusing and a remarkably damning criticism. Very good stuff.
-
I give up with Westwood. At the very best, he's championship standard. So out of his depth, and the odd decent game doesn't hide that.
-
Dean Scogins from The Sun, "I once asked Gerard Houllier about Baker. He takes good throws" was his glowing praise
-
How much money on an O'Neill return?
Less than 0% plus a bit more
-
Yep. I'm in the Vlaar is shit camp he is awful
Sorry mate, no way is Vlaar 'shit'. He can't defend on his own, assisting those around him. He is the captain, and rightly so.
-
Norwich two down, think we are safe now ;-)
-
Other than Delph, the rest are shit and can fuck off. Utter garbage.
-
How much money on an O'Neill return?
For a public flogging and execution?
-
Vlaar is the best of a very bad bunch of defenders. Simple!
-
Every player looks worse than they are. Not saying they are all at this level, but since Chelsea they have regressed beyond all recognition.
-

Thing is, Clark actually looked ok until he got injured and Baker got in. He has not had a sniff since, despite our goals conceded having rocketed in that time about 10 fold!
-
At this point, the only Villa player I like is Guzan.
-
Fulham 1-1. They might just drag us back into it.
-
Dean Scogins from The Sun, "I once asked Gerard Houllier about Baker. He takes good throws" was his glowing praise
Well then he can have a career as a throw in coach, that's another thing our team needs.
-
I'm making Man City favourites for this now.
Next season we will fight Burnley, Hull, Albion and West Ham for relegation.
-
Guzan - certainly no bosnich when he went in 'properly' vs our soon to be manager ;-)
-
Baker must be getting close to the King of own goals Dunne
-
Baker in goal please. Let's have a laugh.
-
On a positive note......
The golf should be good tonight
-
Guzan (groggy): Where am I?
Physio: You're on the pitch, playing for Aston Villa Football Club.
Guzan: Oh fuck.
-
I have a double on today - Spurs to win 3-1 and Liverpool to win 3-1
Liverpool are now at 2-1.
I can see where this bet is going to die.
£2 at 120/1, too.
-
Fulham 1-1. They might just drag us back into it.
Drag us back in what?
-
Guzan and Delph aside I couldn't care less if I ever see any of this lot in a Villa shirt ever again.
-
Keep Delph, Vlaar, Guzan, Bentekke, Weimann, Westwood. Bertrand will leg it back to Cobham asap. The rest can fuck off as far as I'm concerned

Drag Me Back to Hell
-
Season over and thank god for that. At least I know with certainty that we won't make a game of the last part of today's match. We saw Palace fight back from 3 down during the week, but this Villa team does not have the guts or commitment to give it a go. Nor the talent. Nor the Manager. Nor the motivation.
They don't seem to have any of the qualities required to compete at this level. It's just sad for us lot.
-
We are so broken, nothing but a wholesale clear out would do. This lot would challenge the lowest points total in the league if kept together. Utterly desperate state of affairs.
-
Fulham 1-1. They might just drag us back into it.
Drag us back in what?
By my reckoning we are down if Fulham draw, Norwich can get one back, Sunderland can keep it to a one goal difference against Swansea and Cardiff beat Chelsea. We also need Hull to lose by no less than 5 goals and West Brom to not score more than 4
-
The fans must believe Lambert's going otherwise he's getting off lightly.
-
Fulham 1-1. They might just drag us back into it.
Drag us back in what?
Drag Me Back to Hell
Hell is not as bad as watching this, you can't even call it football
-

What on earth are you on about, Richard?
Norwich are five points behind us.
-
Chelsea are level so I think that means we are staying up!!!!
-
Come on Lambert, get Grealish and Robinson on ffs! Give em enough time.

Minor technicality Paulie...
-
I've gone from actively wanting Lambert out to wanting him to never get another job in management.
Where are Robinson and Grealish already?
-
Come on Lambert, get Grealish and Robinson on ffs! Give em enough time.
It's not the 87th minute yet
-
We're safe. I know it's almost impossible to comprehend, but we are. Somehow.
-

Who would honestly give Lambert a job other than someone in League One or Two?

You don't need to, Chelsea are winning 2-1 so we're safe now, that's all that matters...

Because they've shown in the past (beyond this season) they can be quite good. Especially Weimann.
-
We're safe. I know it's almost impossible to comprehend, but we are. Somehow.
As someone said earlier, we are lucky there aren't another two matches to play this season, as we'd be done for.
Still, same place, same time this time next year, no doubt we'll be watching the same crock of shit.
-
we are staying up say we are staying up!

We're so bad we might be deselected. Or maybe the statement is that we've volunteered to go down to avoid further humiliation.

I don't get it?
He's been told by the Premier league that for one week they are awarding all teams below 7 points for a win. It is akin to firing a bullet into the head of an injured deer, limply holding onto life.
-
God almighty our 'passing' is embarrassing.
-
Lamberts next job is Celtic
-
Glad to see Lambert sticking with a successful lineup and not making pointless substitutions.
-
Paul lambert is going to have to begin his managerial career all over again, starting in league one or two. I sincerely hope he learns the lessons of his mistakes. It will be along, long time before he ever gets a crack at a job with a club as big as this. If ever. See TSM1.
-
It won't feel normal unless we concede 4.
-
Is Randy @ WHL? Thought he'd at least be there to say ta-ra!
He is. An ITK on TBUNS has confirmed Randy was admitted to Williamsburg Home for Lunatics sometime in 2011.
-
We're safe. I know it's almost impossible to comprehend, but we are. Somehow.
As someone said earlier, we are lucky there aren't another two matches to play this season, as we'd be done for.
Still, same place, same time this time next year, no doubt we'll be watching the same crock of shit.
We were safe after the 29th game of the season. Which is staggering.
-
Good effort from Delph.
I bet he moves somewhere else in the summer. I wouldn't blame him at all.
-
By Christ we've had a shot.

and might I say, David O'Leary? Nine years out of work now is it?
-
YYYYYEEEESSSS. Shot on target

No, he's just remembered he's got to think of a statement

there will be a lot of Norwich and Colchester fans enjoying this, they loathe him more than I do
-
Yes!!!!!!! Get in! First shot on target. Only took 81 minutes.
-
I actually think I preferred TSM 1
-
Lambert for Leeds United. Please.
-
I feel so sorry for Delphy. He's spent most of the season trying to run midfield all by himself. He must get fed up being surrounded by such drek.
-
I actually think I preferred TSM 1
Too far.
-
given it's the last day he can't say 'we go again' after this latest humping, wonder what he will say instead?
-
FFS Lambert. Robinson on with 8 MINUTES to go.
Managerial master stroke.
Just fuck off and take your young "hungry" players with you.
-
Gabby is still on. I just saw him.
-
We go again, next season.
-
I actually think I preferred TSM 1
I say, steady on old chap!

Twelve thousand voices were shouting in anger, and they were all alike. No question, now, what had happened to the faces of the managers. The fans outside looked from McLeish to Lambert, and from Lambert to McLeish, and from McLeish to Lambert again; but already it was impossible to say which was which.
-

Managerial master stroke.
And playing him out wide as well!
-
Westwood is well down the list of players I'd replace.
-
Stoke 2-1 at WBA thank god
-
Bitters 2-1 down
-
Am I hearing chants of we want Lambert out coming from our lot?
-
So we're going to finish above Albion.
-
No Grealish?
Pathetic.
-
'Villa are content at 3-0' that sums up how dire we've become.
-
Stururke winning at the boing boings....Another 1.2 million for the Randy overdraft
-
Westwood is well down the list of players I'd replace.
One of very few you think might, emphasise might, improve with someone in charge who has half a brain
-
So we're going to finish above Albion.
one very minor crumb of comfort. west midlands top club. huzzah!
-
So we're going to finish above Albion.
Pride of the Midlands. A season to cherish. When's the DVD out?
-
Damage limitation. Lambert has morphed into TSM. He is officially TSM 2.
-
Stoke just scored to make it 2-1 with 3 minutes to go. Only thing to cheer me up on another lousy weekend football wise
-
We have absolutely no idea as to how to attack. Turn round and pass back every time.
-
So we're going to finish above Albion.
I almost feel embarrassed to text my Baggies supporting neighbour 'Pride of the Midlands'. Think I'm just going to forget it.
At least Leicester and potentially Derby will give the Midlands something to shout about next season.
-
There's no pride in the midlands at the moment.
-
38 points. My word.
-
given it's the last day he can't say 'we go again' after this latest humping, wonder what he will say instead?
We go. Bye.
-
So we're going to finish above Albion.
Pride of the Midlands. A season to cherish. When's the DVD out?
the back cover always ends with "enough signs to point to a promising campaign next season...." What the hell could they possibly put on the back of the Villa DVD this year?
-
So we're going to finish above Albion.
Pride of the Midlands. A season to cherish. When's the DVD out?
What route will the open top bus take?
-
Westwood is well down the list of players I'd replace.
He'd be right up near the top of my list to be honest, because he's in our starting 11 every week and is nowhere near good enough to be playing at this level.
The dross like Luna, Sylla, Tonev, Helenius etc, don't concern me as much because they don't play anyway.
It's the shite in the starting 11 that needs addressing first and foremost. Chief of which are the crap midfielders we have alongside Delph.
-
"We want our Villa back, we want our Villa back" sing the Villa fans
-
Westwood is fine but no way a holding midfielder. Push him further up the pitch and he would be an asset. A top class genuine holding mid is desperately required.
-
I know we finished the season with a 2-2 last season at Wigan? What was the result in McCleish's last game?
-
I know we finished the season with a 2-2 last season at Wigan? What was the result in McCleish's last game?
0-2 at Norwich
-
McLeish.
-
We are getting better chaps only 3 today ,after 30 minutes i thought it was going to be 8 or 9
-
We lost to Norwich in iur last game under TSM. Ironically singing for Lambert to come and mange us
-
Westwood needs two 'minders' with him in midfield otherwise he is no good in this current line up.
-
Fulham 1-1. They might just drag us back into it.
Drag us back in what?
By my reckoning we are down if Fulham draw, Norwich can get one back, Sunderland can keep it to a one goal difference against Swansea and Cardiff beat Chelsea. We also need Hull to lose by no less than 5 goals and West Brom to not score more than 4
Are we 11th yet?
