Possibly the best article I've ever read on here. Said it before, the state of real life politics makes me think of The Thick of It as a cutting edge documentary way ahead of its time.

Well summed up Dave. Particularly the last sentence.

As others have said, an excellent piece.  Agree entirely.

If only our politicians and commentators could adopt such an objective and reasoned approach, based on factual evidence of safety at football matches and historical precedents of restrictions/bans on visiting fans.
Thanks, Dave

Excuse me, while railing against the genocide-supporting politicians who want to give us Villa fans lessons on morality, I neglected to say what a good article this was.

This and the latest Guardian article have certainly helped to lift the mood.

I can't believe that a Labour PM finds himself on the same side of the argument as Kemi Badenoch and Nigel Farage, especially as he's supposed to be a football supporter.
He isn't, he follows Arsenal.

Maccabi as a club come out of it with credit for deflating the situation, the only ones who could/did.

Alas Villa were the innocent by-standers with a negative narrative around Villa Park.

Senior Politicians, Fictitious Fan Groups, Yaxley Bollock Head and the Disgraceful Local MP can take their arguments elsewhere. It won't be long before they settle on something else.

Have a guess what this one's about.

https://heroesandvillains.info/2025/10/21/wake-me-up-when-its-over/

Jewish Villans weren’t against the ban, we supported it. We haven’t suddenly popped up, but are now in our second season. And Andrew Fox is a lifelong Villa fan who did a bungee jump from the Holte last year with the Villa Foundation.
Appreciate we live in an age where ignorance of a topic is no barrier to writing authoritatively about it.

Great to read an informed opinion.on this topic.
The whole focus of the media has been on the safety of visiting supporters and there has been little concern over the danger to the local populations health and property.
The danger of a far right protest spilling over into a march through the local housing areas and then conflict arising was totally ignored.
This was never a situation involving just 2 interest groups, I.e  home and away fans; you can add 2 protest groups plus potentially local residents wanting to safeguard their property into the mix.
