Hi
As always we have the begging bowl out. We are never failed to be amazed by the generosity of the readers (not just the posters) of this site. Why should you donate? Please Note that this Forum and the Fanzine are completely separate, purchase of a subscription to the Fanzine is just that, it is for the Heroes & Villains fanzine publication (now online). Donations made through this site go towards the running costs of the site. We sometimes carry odd adverts but they only contribute a little towards the running costs. We would prefer not to have adverts all over the place like other websites, so without donations, this Heroes and Villains site would not be able to continue. If you get enjoyment out of the website and its community, then why not contribute a little something back, to help keep it running? Does the site make a profit and if so what happens to it? No it doesn’t, in fact only three out of the twelve years we have asked for donations have we ended up with a surplus. Our aim is to receive enough donations to cover the running costs each year, any surplus is carried forward to the next year to continue covering running costs. Okay, I’m convinced, how do I make a donation? Donations can be made via Credit or Debit cards (PayPal) by following the link below. If you'd prefer to donate by cheque or cash, please PM Martin (martin@ardenley). How much should l donate? That is entirely up to you to decide. Whilst we’re not completely swayed about having a minimum donation, the donations are for a reason, to keep the site going. People should donate what they think this site is worth to them. For some that will be more than others, and it doesn't make higher donators better than somebody else. That said, we don’t think it’s unreasonable to suggest £13 (£1 per month plus £1 towards the PayPal fees). Obviously if you want to donate (a lot) more please feel free. Do l get any benefits from donating? Well, apart from an almost visible warm glow, as a way of thanking donators, the majority of adverts are no longer visible to donators and you’ll have the legendary Golden Muppet status bestowed on you (this is not automatic but is subject to the discretion of the Admin team), and don't forget to include your username so we can identify donators. This will be displayed under your rank for all to see. Please note that we cannot change your registered username. You can request a change of your display name (subject to approval) but repeated requests will not be tolerated. We will be looking at adding further benefits if and when we can. Thanks The Admin Team |
