Carlos was shit so we needed to sell him. Foyth, not good enough, don't get him. Disasi, oh Chelsea fans think he's shit, don't get him. Bade, never heard of him. ....

However, now we're desperate, let's get Maguire, Coady, play a kid etc etc.

Monchi is on the way out now, Emery hasn't a clue, the club are negligent, it's a disaster.

I mean what would actually make people happy?

I was only joking about Maguire and Coady although they were mentioned, jokingly I think, previously. If you’re happy to have our best midfielder fill in at centre back thus depriving us of our best player in his proper position, hats off to you.
You can spin it how you like but as it stands it’s putting us in a potentially difficult position going forwards.

Edit. I think a half competent player who’s natural position is centre half is not an unreasonable wish.

A good centre back, large donner meat and chips, an hours nap then 3 minutes with Sydney Sweeney.

We shouldn't have sold Carlos without a replacement. Simple as that really.

It's not that hard to grasp is it? Seems it is.....

Good summary Drummond…I think if we don’t get a decent centre half in we have cocked up but I also think talk or disaster or negligence is way OTT

I miss just slagging Heck off all day :-). He’s too short to play centre half isn’t he??

I mean what would actually make people happy?

In order of preference:

Buying a shit-hot centre-back to replace Carlos
Loaning a shit-hot centre-back to replace Carlos
Loaning a capable placeholder centre-back to replace Carlos until we can do it properly in the summer
Not selling Carlos
Loaning someone familiar with the centre-back position to replace Carlos in the squad until we can do it properly in the summer
Selling Carlos and not bringing anyone in at all

I agree right back was probably more of a priority at the start of the window and we've signed another project player there not ready to step up. And the lack of centre backs means we can't even play Konsa there when Cash has one of his regular injuries.

Assume you're talking about Garcia there, who I thought looked alright in his brief appearance in an entirely makeshift defense which also left our midfield out of shape.

A human being with two legs, who is happy to play centre half would be enough to make me happy at this stage.

I mean what would actually make people happy?

Shifting high wage dead wood - check

Signing Man Utds best player for buttons - check

Signing a full Spanish international that has won multiple European Cups and played for Real Madrid and PSG - check

Competition for Cash - check

Mings doesn't get injured and it would have been a very good window. I get the despondency over the injuries, but it is a fairly temprary injury crisis. Most areas of the pitch we are much stronger now, and have done far better business than most of our rivals.

Man Utd, Spurs, Newcastle, Man City, Brighton didn't do much. Liverpool and Arsenal didn't do anything.

This has been a dark week in the history of this proud, historic club. Some of you know that my doctoral thesis was on the genocide of the Cheyenne and Arapaho Native American tribes in what has become known as the Sand Creek Massacre. This transfer window is worse than that.
