Bailey is off it. Diaby's pace has gone. Ramsey is injured.

That's our problem.. We need pace up front.
Recruitment has been very questionable IMO. Regardless of PSR.

I think the players we've signed are good additions. There are one or two that we clearly haven't been able to get, yet, but we're aiming higher I think, which makes it much harder.

Yes we need wingers, but lets shut up shop first. Solid defence is the key to success.

In order of priority....

RB - Digne level quality but with a right foot (*Cash reverts to our backup RB so that we NEVER have to play Ezri there again).
RCB - Quality Backup/improvement for Ezri if he gets injured. Diego Carlos needs to be put out to pasture.
RW - Competition for Bailey. When he isn't doing it/injured, we have no other option.
LW - Are we EVER going to see a fully fit Jacob Ramsey again? Great player, but what's the point if he's never on the pitch

Fuck FFP - Take any resultant hit on a points deduction. We'll accrue more points WITH these players and the points deduction than without, and will give us the step up in quality we need to progress in the coming seasons.

Tried everything to get Carlos out in the summer and bring in Gerrtruida so it's not as if Emery didn't/doesn't recognise RB/RCB is an area we need to strengthen.

Tried everything but accept what they considered too low an offer. Same as Duran.

Unable to get a right-back due to PSR according to Monchi and Vidigany, and still a priority according to Jacob Tanswell, Villa correspondent for The Athletic. So it’s not like they don’t realise that Cash is a weak link.

What about this Dibling kid at Southampton. Worth a punt?

We've been linked. Him and Pereira are the two that keep coming up.

We are fortunate that the competition is fairly even compered to ohter seasons. We are still in touch after some very ordinary performances, it all comes down to whether we can add a couple of decent players in January.

I listen to more than that mate. I like to base my opinions on as much information as possible to avoid agreeing with clueless folk who watch football yet don’t understand what they’re looking at, or give ridiculous player ratings in order to attract attention.

If that our only hope then I think we are buggered, getting 2 in that will settle and significantly impact the way things are going is a big ask.i think we have allready tried to change too much to quickly. A RB yes if possible but I believe we need to look at the set up and the way we are playing starting with defence.

I still think people are going to be disappointed in the right-back quest. Madrid and Man City definitely need new ones as a priority, so if the shiny expensive ones that we might like are going there, other clubs who have just lost their shiny expensive right-back are going to need replacements.

Reckon we might find ourselves quite far back in the queue.

...it would save me having to keep posting it, assuming that they didn’t know.

On the other hand, there are probably nomadic tribes on the plains of Mongolia who have never experienced electricity before who are fully aware of your feelings on the subject.

So I'd say that you "having to keep posting it" is at the very least debatable.

Or indeed be quite so condescending about it. Who was at right back when we had such a good run of clean sheets with Konsa and Mings in the middle?

There is no world where Carlos in a standard premier league game has the concentration to be effective. This is proven time and again with the idiotic balls he plays out to opponents that result with the ball in our net. A defensive minded, good quality right back improves our defence overnight with Konsa centrally not Carlos. The other huge reason for that run was the organisation of Mings. It was clear against Brentford after 2 minutes that he's the voice at the back and Konsa needs him. In the next 2 windows a player on the right side of the defence that has a bit of leadership would be very handy.

That's where our recruitment department need to earn their money and find one that isn't shiny but can become shiny for us.

I expect they'd argue that they did precisely that last January.

Would we be in for the same calibre of players as Man City and Real Madrid? I don’t think we’ll be competing for “Trent’s” signature.
I’d like to think we’ve already got some targets lined up.
