We can add three more players. If we melt the whole squad down for glue, we can still only add three players.

I don't think that is true, there is an exception if more than five players leave, if so you get to add a total of four. We just can't do that because one of our outgoings is Philogene who is home grown. But hypothetically if Bailey left we'd get the headroom in the non home grown list - I think.

The Nordic leagues and a few others for example where they are more likely to sell and buy multiple players ready for the new season.
Yup, I think most of us who'd glanced at the rules assumed that it all looked fine to add more than three at first.Let's just hope that the club are a bit more switched on than we were - as it REALLY looks like we've been deliberately shovelling players out the door to reach a specific number of players who were no longer in the old squad. And it REALLY looks like we've done our transfer dealings as if we intended to add four or even five new players rather than three.

The main crux is, clubs are only allowed to register a maximum of three new eligible players after the completion of the league phase and before the start of the knockout phase. There are some exceptions where more new players are allowed to be registered. The first is for teams whose domestic season start and end in the same calendar year. Dinamo Zagreb, for example, as the Croatian league starts in August and ends in December. The other is if a club sells a large amount of players before the knockout phase. UEFA only allows four new players to be registered if more than five players in the squad for the group stage have left, and five additions if more than seven have left.
Clubs participating in domestic championships that start and end in the same calendar year are entitled to additional player registrations in the following cases:If more than five players on the club's List A are no longer registered with their national association as playing for the club concerned after completion of the league phase and before the start of the knockout phase, the club may register one additional player, i.e. a total of four new eligible players, for the remaining matches in the current competition. If more than seven players on the club's List A are no longer registered with their national association as playing for the club concerned after completion of the league phase and before the start of the knockout phase, the club may register two additional players, i.e. a total of five new eligible players, for the remaining matches in the current competition.
Article 32 Subsequent registration32.01After the completion of the league phase and before the start of the knockout phase, a club may register a maximum of three new eligible players for the remaining matches in the current competition. Such registrations must be completed by 6 February 2025 (24:00 CET) at the latest.32.02Exceptionally and without prejudice to Paragraph 32.01, clubs participating in domestic championships that start and end in the same calendar year are entitled to additional player registrations in the following cases:If more than five players on the club's List A are no longer registered with their national association as playing for the club concerned after completion of the league phase and before the start of the knockout phase, the club may register one additional player, i.e. a total of four new eligible players, for the remaining matches in the current competition. If more than seven players on the club's List A are no longer registered with their national association as playing for the club concerned after completion of the league phase and before the start of the knockout phase, the club may register two additional players, i.e. a total of five new eligible players, for the remaining matches in the current competition.Such exceptional registrations must be completed by 6 February 2025 (24:00 CET) at the latest.32.03Any or all of the players from the above quota may have been fielded for another club in the qualifying phase, play-offs or league phase of the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League or UEFA Conference League.32.04If the registration of such new players causes the number of players on List A to exceed 25, the club must remove the necessary number of currently registered players to reduce the List A to 25 players again. The quota of locally trained players must be respected when registering new players.
