The first couple of rows have to be left empty don’t they?

+3500 empty seats

Front row in the Holte and North Stand, bigger segregation, Bayern had half an empty block in Witton Lane too.

I was wondering about that and guessed that it’s for opposition fans who turn up without tix that WMP would rather have in the ground than outside. But is that plausible?

It looked like club officials and other hangers-on - they didn't do the line dancing the rest of their fans were doing.

It was sold out, barring a literal handful of corporate seats.  In the champions league the capacity is reduced due to the advertising around the pitch (so the first few rows aren't sold) and there is increased segregation between fans.  Liverpools attendance was also under 60k (every league game been 60k+), even though last night was their highest attendance in the competition in the current stadium set-up.

Yes the only clump of seats that were empty that I could see was the patch between the Bayern fans in the lower tier, and the Villa fans. Everywhere else appeared to be rammed.

The bigger advertising definitely removed front row options. Other clubs either sunk the pitch a couple of feet or accounted for it when building newer stands. Do we still have the water tank for the brewery under our pitch?

5th place is currently nailed for qualification in the Prem league this season. Currently an eleven point difference to second place.

Funnily enough I was just thinking that an extra benefit of a good run here is it might help us qualify again if we slip to 5th.
