This has the potential to go down very badly for Heck and the club, off the back of the Oasis tickets debacle this is a hot topic at the moment and the national media are picking up on it.

Somehow an organised protest/statement from supporters groups needs to be made very quickly.  After the disgrace that was the Arsenal game there is a chance here to get something changed.

There's no connection with the Oasis tickets really.

Other than people being ripped off over the price of tickets being in the national headlines for the last 5 days?  The method of the rip-off might be different here, but the nuance of that isn't what's getting people talking - it's the principle.  Look at the message board of other clubs, everyone is already talking about our prices being a disgrace.

Get something organised now whilst it's a national topic, and we might be able to get them to back down at least a little.

Thats just it. The Oasis tickets in some cases ending up being £300+. Tbe vast majority paid the face value. Im not suggesting for a minute we havent overcharged because we have but the Oasis thing was different.

It's still the principle - people looking at the national coverage won't be looking at how it's been done, just the fact that it has.  It's relevant because Heck literally could not have picked a worse time to announce a pricing structure like this, and the fact that everyone is picking up on it is because it has been a dominant theme in the news cycle over the last week.  For someone who is supposed to be a marketing genius it is a pretty dumb move, and one the club will have to row back on if enough pressure is applied.

Yep, and Celtic could use the same excuse as Heck to charge more - they could sell their ground out twice, there’s always someone further down the queue wiling to pay - but they decided not to.

 It was 20 Gulders to see us beat Bayern in the final in 1982.

That's just under £15 in today's money - accounting for inflation.

Just for anyone like me who “ticked the box” but draws the line at those prices….

I contacted Villa support on Twitter, and they will take you out of the cup scheme if you ask.

I'm pleased they will give people that option.

I suspect that they would have to anyway, having effectively sold them without a price and over the internet.

We all want the club to compete, we're playing against elite clubs Bayern, Juventus & a lesser extent Celtic in an elite competition for the first time in 40 years. The prices will reflect that. Other clubs have been in the CL for decades & their prices reflect that. It's not a straight comparison.

You could argue there's a balance between getting maximum revenue & rewarding loyalty but the club are obviously targeting the former. We were never going to pay less to watch Bayern in the CL than Wolves in the PL. It's no coincidence the article in the Athletic was released today.

I was expecting more than that to be honest. I thought maybe £55-60.

£175 per match for me and my boys as only Claret members..  Went to most home games last season and all the Conference home matches.  Were looking forward to Champions League but not sure I can do this.

There is no excuse for our prices - Newcastle were in the same position last season, and charged significantly less.  The club could charge £20 less per ticket and it won't make that much difference to the PSR position. 

Lots of fans (myself included) are already having to make choices about which games to attend this season, and with these prices a trip to watch the Bayern game will mean as a family we won't be able to afford at least a couple of league games.  Is Heck that confident we will sell out against the likes of Bournemouth, Brentford or Southampton?  Yes we will probably sell out the CL games, but don;t be surprised if we have thousands of empty seats at other matches as a result.

I was expecting them to go up to the eye watering prices they have been set at, but I just feel the Celtic price of £50 is what Id feel was about fair.

I'm not sure you can easily compare club by club.

Newcastle's revenue was already higher than hours, so that gave them a bit more leeway. Also, pricing on many items is a lot cheaper in the North.

Also, we've shown over the last couple of seasons that we are being far more aggressive in trying to establish ourselves back among the elite. You can argue that Newcastle haven't managed to keep up and their being limited by PSR is also holding them back, but they seem more accepting of it.
