Aston Villa is pleased to announce the signing of Yeimar Mosquera from Orsomarso and he will immediately join Real Union on loan.

The 19-year-old is a signing for the development teams and had featured regularly for Orsomarso since making his breakthrough into the team earlier this year.

On the international stage, the defender has represented Colombia at Under-20 level.

Welcome, Yeimar! 🇨🇴

Everybody, Y-M-C-......

I think if you expect an 18yo to move to the Premier League and be up to speed within two matches, you're pretty much guaranteed to be disappointed.

Nedeljkovic is going to take time to develop, it's pointless to make judgements about him this early.

I thought Nedeljkovic looked good against Arsenal. That's not an easy game to be thrown into when you're adapting to Emery's approach and adjusting to the Premier League. I think he'll do well. Emery's building a side not just for the here and now but for the future.

My counterpoint was that at this stage of his career I don't think he's good enough to be a starting right back for a Champions League team.

But he's not - he's second choice right back for a Champions League team.
Who do you think will be starting for the next 5-6 weeks?

The second choice right back, while the first choice right back is injured.
You mean the starting right-back for the next 5-6 weeks (at least) then?

Well, if our disagreement is down to semantics then fair enough.

I took "starting right back" as interchangeable with "first choice right back". If what you meant was "someone who could conceivably start any football match for us", then fine. I'd still disagree though. He was playing against Man City and Leipzig last year, let's see how he gets on against Leicester and Wycombe.

And it's definitely not worth bemoaning the lack of a Trevoh Chalobah (where this started) in that position instead.

I know people want us to sign ready made players who will fit straight in, but in reality the squad we had last season was good enough to have us pushing for top spot at Christmas.

Kamara and Luiz have gone along with Diaby who were a big part of it (though many people felt Diaby wasn't good enough Nd that Luiz downed tools at that point.)

We have Onana and Tielemans in midfield, and we can argue all day long about how much of a drop-off that is, with Kamara to come back. In addition there's proper quality and Champions League first team experience in Barkley, Maatsen and Nedeljkovic and then our known quality in Buendia, Mings, and Ramsey all available now too. Rogers joined part way through last season and is showing just how good he can become.

Bailey and Watkins have shown how good they both are, Duran has more experience with us and Digne has proven to be great under a quality manager. Torres is quality, Konsa too.

There's depth in the squad. Barrenechea and Iling Junior didn't even make the matchday squads of 20 players. We have Bogarde and Philogene who are homegrown and both exciting prospects and on new contracts.

Martinez and McGinn don't need any justification.

Would I like more? Yes, because we all do, pretty much always. However, it's not the end of the world, or a shit window, if we didn't.

He did well standing his ground with Martinelli, when Trossard came on he was caught out positional with a couple of balls inside him but that is what they will be working on him with.  Like his pace though.  Very good potential

Ward-Prowse off to Forest on loan. You'd have thought Southampton would have been all over that.

I noticed that he was often the deepest of the four when trying to hold the line, so it will be things like this where he needs to get comfortable and learn to work with the others.

Something I saw said they were trying.

All of our signings (with the possible exception of Barkley) are players who you have to think can be improved under Unai's guidance. They've got tangible qualities that he will build on - such as:

Ned - learning to maintain focus against wingers who don't give up at any time and when and how to track them when they move inside out of possession

Duran -  teaching him to control his emotions - become calmer in possession and be a team player - knowing when to not be greedy and pass to a better positioned colleague

Morgan Rogers - how to find that killer pass at the end of One of his slalom runs from our half.

It a certainty that Unai and the coaching team will have analysed everybody who comes in -  before they join - assessing their strengths and weaknesses and know exactly needs to do to improve their overall game.

We may well sign a duffer (odds tell us that that will hapoen) but thus far he's done a fantastic job with the players he inherited and those he's signed.

The players we're now bringing in have a higher ceiling than what we had when he joined.

No.  A very expensive bullet dodged I think.

Hard to believe no one is after Zaha. Lyon are set to pay no loan fee and take on the 130k/wk.

Blose have had a £10m bid rejected by Fulham for some striker. Them lot having £10m to spend on one player?! That's like us forking out £100m on someone.

C'mon, throw the PSR book at them. We might have overflowing urinals, their estadio del Trillion Trophies has been patched-up with breeze-blocks for years now.
