What about swapping McGinn for him (Rogers) - or at least get them to interchange.  McGinn is good at keeping the ball can shoot from distance etc
That occurred to me during yesterday's game. The only negative would be that we'd weaken slightly the midfield cover for the leftback, but I do think we could interchanged the two roles more than we did yesterday.

I said at half time I'd go even further. For me our best 10 at times last season was actually Tielemans. So I would like to see Rogers left, McGinn in the pivot with Onana and Youri at 10.

Pleasing thing is the midfield has functioned very well against two excellent units so makes a mockery of how disjointed it looked in pre season.

Also the idea we'd struggle to string 2-3 passes together without Luiz. That's what I like about Tielemans. Gets the ball and he's immediately looking to see if there's a forward pass on. Doug was a brilliant player for us but he did have a tendency to dwell on the ball too much and slow things down for us when we needed to keep the tempo up.

We have more in reserve and Kamara will hopefully be available in around three months.

It was that slowing the tempo down that probably drove Emery mad.

I felt that Tielemans was in and out last season and a bit wasteful and lightweight, and was doubting his ability to step up and perform regularly in Luiz’s position

However, I’ve been impressed with him in both games now he seems to have settled down and is playing well, and is not the weak link I thought he might of been

There was a moment in the second half, still at 0-0, when Onana galloped away through the midfield and, not finding support, flummoxed (I think) Partey with a deft and slightly dainty turn and won a free-kick. I think he's a god damn star.

I was equally flummoxed as to why Partey didn't get booked for that challenge

This team isnt scoring as many goals as last season thats for sure on what ive seen so far. In two games we have missed so many chances already.

I really wish we didnt have to sell dougie =[

We've scored the same number of goals as we did in the 2 corresponding fixtures.

Im basing this on what ive seen so far. We have missed so many guilt end chances already in two games. Missed i think 3-4 last week and 3 yesterday. Last season those chances go in. Even in pre season i was thinking we are not scoring enough here.

Its early days it could change but thats a massive worry for me. Just dont see the current midfield scoring as many as diaby and luiz got for us. Only two i see capable of getting those goals is rogers ans bailey. I feel we definitely need another attacking player of the bailey mould

Last season they didn't go in, hence we scored the same amount of goals from the corresponding games. The fact we created far more against both West Ham and Arsenal than we did last season, is a huge positive.

Watching some of the extended highlights back, you can see exactly why Emery wanted Felix at 10. A player that can take a breath and take the right decision. If we could somehow get an elite level player in that position our attack takes on a totally different look.

I’m hoping that his post match comments suggest that there is still opportunity in the remainder of the window to bring in a player or two. I agree, we were missing that bit of real quality at times in creating chances or patience on the ball vs giving it away. Cash’s injury will likely force our hand possible back to the Feyenoord lad. But we do need a false 9 type of player to help link the midfield and attack.

I wonder what happened to the noise around Alex Baena. That seemed nailed on at one point and would seem to be a perfect fit.

I thought that was the profile type of players we would be looking at tbh

It's insane that Chelsea, with Palmer, Sterling, Makueke, Jackson, Nkuku... Still have the wage freedom and money to drop £100m on Felix and Neto. There's a playing field, but theirs is in a very different county.
