I love buendia (great song) but maybe his recovery would be more complete if playing regularly ie out on loan.  With Illing Jnr also off I think a loan bid for Chiesa (or Sancho) might be beneficial for this season.  Two players out (but improving) whilst we sign a “name” for the short term (and longer if they prove themselves).
I would be behind this.  It’s funny this season - last year we had the hubs games to get us up to speed and try a bit more of the squad

So you are saying you would replace Rogers?
Im saying I'd sign a top draw Diarby replacement.

This team isnt scoring as many goals as last season thats for sure on what ive seen so far. In two games we have missed so many chances already.

I really wish we didnt have to sell dougie =[

The concern for me would be if we were not creating chances. But we are and a lot more than at the end of last season. The goals will come there are plenty of goals in this team.

I hope so gary. But last week we were almost punished for our misses thanks to a criminal penalty given against us. Luckily duran cams scored. This week we should have won but when you dont take your chances against teams like arsenal you are punished and thats what happened to do.

If we miss these chances at Cl level we wont ne gettibg very fair in CL thats for sure. We really need to start taking these chances if we want another successful season.

Well we will be getting 8 games no matter how badly we might play in the CL. I was going on at least getting to the play-off round but that would do for me this season. It is qualifying for it next year which is the bigger aim for this season. (And a domestic cup run maybe).

Qualifying again this year looks even more difficult than last year.

Its the goal of course but i think a top 7 finish is more realistic with this current squad

That doesn't even stand up to the slightest of examinations.

We've last year's squad plus Buendia and soon Mings, plus also Kamara, who we did without last season, plus Ramsey who missed most of it effectively, plus all the players we've signed in the meantime.

The only player of note we don't have any more is Luiz, who delivered half a season.

Most of Doug's goals were from penalties. If we get a similar number to last season than Tielemans should score more.

Without penalties Luiz scores same amount as SJM.

I don't think there's a huge concern. What we need to do is remembering how to keep a clean sheet as we rarely do that in games now so I expect another defensive signing to be made next week.

We've scored the same number of goals as we did in the 2 corresponding fixtures.

I'm not sure how you can watch that and think not having Doug was the problem. Ollie is rusty, Emi made a mistake and they worked us well down our left in the 2nd. Not much Dougie being there would have changed that.

Doug wouldn't have got in ahead of Yuri or Onana based on his post-Jan form. We lost because we had 4 great chances in the game and didn't take any. They had 1, scored it, were gifted another by Emi. Scored by somebody who should have been off the pitch for his in game conduct. And perhaps out the sport for other reasons.

Another number, 6 ....I don't think so
