Anyone worked out our net spend in this transfer window? Currently, with all the outgoings, we could well be in profit? If so, this gives scope to add a couple more , especially a striker and RB. Possibly cover at left centre back for Torres as Mings is still a month or two from returning.

We've spent around £150m (third highest in Europe after Chelsea and Atletico Madrid) and brought in around £122m (again third highest, after Leeds and Chelsea).

Luiz £43.5m, Diaby £50-60m, Kellyman €19m, Archer £15m, Iroegbunam £12m,, Chambers £4m. Sanson (undisclosed) Around £160m in sales if I'm correct.?

I very much doubt we got £4m for Chambers. Sanson I thought was disclosed as €4m wasn’t it? So about £3m. Kellyman I think was £19m (not €).

Looking at it, Transfermarkt (much like Chelsea probably have themselves) have forgotten that Kellyman exists.

They have:

Moussa Diaby
€60.00m

Douglas Luiz
€51.50m

Cameron Archer
€17.60m

Tim Iroegbunam
€10.70m

Morgan Sanson
€4.00m

Viljami Sinisalo
€1.20m

Calum Chambers
free transfer

That lot comes to €145m, which is around £123k. They then give Kellyman elsewhere as €22.5m, so £19m.

£142m total incomings if one chooses to believe their figures.

So, can we splash another £40-50m?

I think Sterling doesn't want to be part of the circus and has taken the first chance he's got to try and get out of there.
Don't blame him.
I just hope he doesn't end up here.

Chelsea is the clown car of the Premier League, no wonder Sterling wants out, given Maresca's comments.

BUT we shouldn't go anywhere near him.

He's too self-centered and would disturb the one-for-all, all-for-one team spirit on which much of our success has been built.

Look back at his career - never really a team player - only ever out for himself.

Let's see how keen he is to leave the Chelsea Circus  by how much of the remaining 2yrs @£325k a week he's willing to give up.

Personally I'd just sit in the stands every week collecting the money to spite Boehly and his fellow muppets.

I'd take Sterling on loan for a season, if Chelsea don't take the piss with the fee and we're not paying all of his wages.  I just don't see how buying him would fit with the profile of players we've been linked to.  If we're buying him, we'll be spending quite a bit and doing so in the knowledge his value will be zero at the end of his contract - and that doesn't feel like a very Monchi-style deal.

But if he's fit and motivated, I think he could be very useful on the footballing side for this coming season at least.

That is disrespectful. He was a good utility player for us and must be worth a modest fee at least.

The thing that would bother me about Sterling is did we have any interest in him before last Sunday afternoon? If he was someone Monchi had on his list, or we'd tried to buy before, and now he's suddenly available then I'd be open to it. But if its literally just oh look, that guy is for sale now, then it's a bit Zaniolo/Lenglet for me.

Wasn't Chambers a mutual contract termination thing, allowing him free passage.

Loan players are nearly always going to be players that are surplus to requirements but that their club hasn't been able to get rid of permanently. So I'd be very surprised if we'd had Sterling on any lists, because we definitely wouldn't have been buying him and we wouldn't have expected him to be available.

But if part of the plan was "we've got loads of money for Diaby so let's replace him with the best loan attacker that we can find towards the end of August and put all that money into Onana, these are a few names that might be available at that point" and then Sterling's name appeared - then that's perfectly alright in my book.
