if it did happen I think Duran would be sold

Yeah, thats probably the most likely scenario.

I wouldn't mind swapping Duran for Omorodion, if the choice was to bring him in if we sold Duran. Mostly due to the attitude & maturity issues with Duran.

Obviously, the ideal option would be to have them all, but thats the most unlikely scenario.

But I wouldn't be against swapping the two (selling Duran separately & bringing in Omorodion separately) for the reasons I mentioned in the post you quoted about him being a 6'4" physical specimen & the options he would give us from the bench that are different from Watkins style of play.

Plus he is young & has a lot of potential to grow into.

No way, Duran is proven in the Premier League. He can be a superstar.

John Townley confirming we have opened talks with Sterling. As a loan it's a very good option. He's only 29. I imagine Chelsea would need to cough up at least 50% of his salary.

Wouldn't have gone for it myself but the guys in charge have earned a bit of trust, not least on players with his record.

He might be past his prime but his record suggests he's hardly shit.

He's clearly not shit.

I got involved in a ding dong discussion about him last night, which left me thinking I should avoid the internet after 8pm, because I'd worry a bit about whether his following media circus would be a negative, and I'd be surprise if Unai wanted to take that sort of risk, very much so.

But if he wants to, that's fine. A loan is not a problem.

It's saying he wants permanent - struggle to get on board if its that.  Loan maybe  But seems a bit entitled with his press release bollocks.

Emery has signed Mbappé and Neymar, mate.

A good comparison is probably when he took a "past it" Hatem Ben Arfa from Nice to PSG as well and got over thirty matches out of him that season.

I mean, I'm guessing he actually had very little to do with signing any of those three players. But it's solid evidence that if we're not interested it'll be nothing to do with any supposed character flaws that Sterling might have. Just whether he'd be good enough.

We're a passing team and Sterling doesn't pass, so for that alone never mind the wages and any loan fee it's a no for me.

A purely hypothetical choice of Diaby or Sterling I would've taken Diaby every day.

Don't rate Sterling at all. He's clearly not shit, but in the online football forum bubble, I think he's shit.

66 assists in his last six seasons at Man City suggest he does pass, fairly often.

I would too.

But if selling Diaby means that that we sign Onana and the cost for Sterling is £5-10m in wages for a year, then I'd take Onana + Sterling over Diaby.
