Madrid refuse to loan him out again. The value I've read we're going to open with is £35m. We still have other more essential shopping to do and ideally sell a few but until that happens I don't expect we'll see any deal struck for Felix.

More essential than adding another attacker? What would that be then?

I would say a decent, commanding CH in place of Carlos is priority.  We have looked ropey at the back for ages now, and still look dodgy pre-season (I know Konsa is to come back),  We need to stop conceding so many set-piece goals.  And then buy Felix!
That's exactly how I see it.
I am desperate to offload Carlos so that we HAVE to buy a replacement.....one who can attack and head balls in the air. Because other than Mings, we don't have that sort of player.
I am sure Unai knows this though.

I thought it was odd he gave the Donk an outing last night, rather than Enzo (unless he has a knock?)

Don’t think Enzo was in the squad last night.

That's what I mean, why put Donk in the squad over Enzo?

Like you said, he may have been carrying a knock. Besides, Donk has been in every squad so far this pre-season

The Donk didn’t do himself any favours last night.

What'd he do wrong? He's solid as fcuk.

There were a few occasions where he lost possession easily and was dispossessed. I suppose it was nothing major, perhaps I’m being too critical.

Career wise I think the Donk would be better moving to CB. The days of playing midfield and just getting stuck in are over. You have to be able to play a bit with the ball at your feet.

I still think replacing Diaby is our biggest priority.  A CB would be lovely - but a forward is more important - Rogers, JP look great but its a big ask for them to do it consistently at there age given they were both in championship last season.  Also - Bailey was amazing last season - but assuming hell be at those levels forever more is risky.  Beundia is an upgrade on Zanilio though.

I think he started at CB at Anderlecht.

Also didn't realise that when they won the league in 16-17, it was basically thanks to a new first-choice central midfield of 20 year old Dendoncker and 18 year old Youri Tielemans.

I woudnt mind keep the Donk as a fifth ish option at DM or CB and also keep the other younger Belgians with company/support.

I think we need a right footed centre back to replace him. With Torres and Mings being the left sided option.

Didn't he play there during the Stevenage debacle?

Not for me, was a v poor signing…too slow to play centre mid and way way too slow to play at the back in a high line when we aren’t exactly blessed with pace already

Yes that is for real (belive it or not). He played there for Belgia not long ago.
