Question: Who would you take and why?

Joao Felix for £40m or Jack Grealish for £40m?

Grealish.

More likely the move would work.

Definitely Grealish, as said above.

What about Felix on loan?

Wasn’t the deal already agreed and too far down the line ?

He was someone we'd been looking at and Emery gave the green light. Emery had been here nearly 3 months when we signed Duran.

But that does not mean it is where Emery would have started from.

Felix. Younger, more versatile and higher ceiling to come than Jack has pushing 29. Looks like he takes care of himself better too.

I would back Emery to rehabilitate and not lose money on him. £40m on Jack is buying headlines, problems and ultimately pissing money away.

Both definitely need to get their respective careers back on track. Felix gets linked with multiple clubs every transfer window. Grealish's commercial value, which unfortunately carries a lot weight these days when it comes to transfers, might have taken a hit not making the Euros squad. Anywhere near his best and his commercial value makes the club a lot of money. Man City don't hang around moving players on if he was keen on leaving.

Grealish, Grealish, Grealish, Grealish, Grealish until the last minute, then sign Felix and leave the greasy one to languish and be second, third etc choice where he is.

Both earn a similar fortune though Felix is prepared to drop his weekly €240k. Both need their heads shaving. Felix is technically the better footballer and you're right, Unai would make money from him, probably selling him to Barca in 12/18 months time.

Think I’d probably keep the 40m in the bank for a quality big strong centre back

Probably the right answer. The Lisbon bloke we've been continuously linked with would also be a better bet I would imagine.

Agreed. With someone like that signed, we could sell Cash and Carlos and go into the market again.

A couple of places suggested that Matias Soule is now available and Leicester interested.

With the number of left sided players we have signed, I cannot see us being interested in signing Jack.

The João Felíx rumours aren't going away. He wants everything settled before he's due to go back to Madrid in 10 days and a loan may be now an option. Ideally he'd like to go back to Barca but Atletico won't want to loan him there again and what money they have is heading north for Wales international, Nico Williams. That leaves us and..maybe Arsenal. I don't think he's that excited about a return to Benfica and who can blame him.

I like the look of Felix from the bits I've seen but I get the impression from his time at Chelsea and Barcelona that he's not a great option from the bench but looks much better when he starts and can grow into games.

I'd prefer the welshman.
Don't think we'll get NW and we really don't want JF - seems very needy / temperamental.
