We need more quality and more depth. As let's be honest, the next step up from where we are is quite frightening.

Could it be that the player hasn't setted here.

Then we need to grow the stable and paddock. Selling quality players isn't going to help.

But we’ve only got room for 25 ponies.

Think I’m starting to crack this code.

I like Diaby and think he had a pretty good season for us and has more to offer.

However I also think where he struggled last season was with the physicality of the league. That gives him and us a task of trying to bulk him up a little whilst also not affecting his pace and sharpness.

If the club think that is possible and have plans in place for this summer then it'd be silly to let him go unless we're offered a huge profit but if there are any doubts I have no issue with him moving on so long as we use that money to bring in someone else who may settle in more naturally.

What's strange is that the Saudi's have been interested in Diaby for a while now. If we had to sell a player to comply with PSR.. why wouldn't we have just moved on from Diaby instead of losing Dougie?

Isn't Diaby a muslim ? That may or may not have a bearing on the Saudi links.

Al-Ittihad is trying to put together a little French contingent.

‘He didn’t look happy.’ No he just looked like he was playing football. Some of the faces people pull when giving it some on a football pitch are a bit weird, it’s not an insight into their soul.

Why?

Is that the reason you don't like him?

Why would a normal Muslim family feel less happy in Birmingham than in an incredibly restrictive desert dystopia? I know it's meant well, but to my mind it's a bit like saying Christians should move to Utah - it's better to be somewhere you can practice your own vision of the faith, no?

For the same reason Catholic players want to play for Roma, any Jerusalem club or in Santiago de Compostela. Obviously.

Footballers should probably be taught at academy level the correct level of facial involvement to make sure people don't think they're a twat. Mustn't be too happy (Bacuna) or too grumpy (Ayew).

Find the stoic middle ground.

I'm loathe to given credence to Tim's latest theories - but a few of the players who moved last summer did say that moving to a Muslim country was part of their reason for going. I think Benzema was definitely one of them.
