Are we nit just going to pay Callun Ohare to sit on our bench? Louie Barry also counts doesn't he? Loan grealish? Buy back JP back from hull?
Seems to be plenty of ex villa players around, is barry bannan still playing?

Does Sinisalo figure as a home-grown player?

Potentially yes.

He's been on loan at other clubs for a lot of that time. Does that count as coming through out academy? Or do they just need to be on our books?

Our player. Doesn't matter if they were out on loan somewhere else.

Loans have no impact, I only said potentially because If no one leaves I suspect he's the 4th choice right now and I'm not sure we'd name 4 keepers.

Monchi and co aren’t letting the grass grow this summer.

Presume we’ll calm down once the end of June work is done and set about a couple of top notch starters in the rest of the window

Yes, that’s how I see it. This summer’s equivalent of Pau and Diaby from last year. Maybe three. We need to be CL ready before Bouba comes back, which to me says: RCB, CDM, and someone as good as Dougie, but bigger.

Yeah we need to be a bit careful it’s not too much all in one go. I get the Doug situation is needs must, and that’s resulting in two players coming in, but we don’t want too much bedding in.

David Ornstein

🚨 EXCL: Chelsea hold talks with reps of Lille striker Jonathan David over potential summer move. 24yo high among multiple #CFC options + contract 2025 so fee likely to be reasonable. No approach to #LOSC yet but good relations between clubs
@TheAthleticFC

Would they want him and Duran?

As things stand we could still field the same starting 11, bar Dougie, that were first choice last season, but have seriously added to the depth of options on the bench. I'm assuming Maatsen and Barkely happen and am not including the Everton lad as of yet.

Safe to assume a few more leave before the summer is over, so obviously there could still be more changes to the lineup, and there's the injured players to come back but I'd be confident we could start the season with Martinez, Konsa, Pau, one of Digne/Moreno, McGinn, Bailey, Diaby, one of JJ/Rogers, and Watkins.

At this rate we're going to have more midfielders than Spurs did a couple of years back when they were signing them like they were going out of fashion. I can see Unai easing back SJM due to the amount of football he's played, no Dougie, no Kamara until later in the season, right now we could be starting the season with a completely new midfield.

I’d guess the first XI will be something like:

Emi

Konsa
New CB
Torres
Maatsen

SJM
New CDM
Tielemans/Barkley/New 8
Bailey

Rogers
Watkins

That’s not too much change. A lot will depend on pre-season performances.

Watching the Belgium game the thought of Tielemans next to Onana seems more and more appealing

I'd imagine it would be one or the other. They seem to be getting linked to more strikers than Arthur Scargill.

I’m assuming he means for the first game.

I could imagine there being a new right back.
