This would be disappointing to lose Kellyman but £20m is also very useful. We need to keep developing young players and have a massive pipeline of  players continuously coming through. It’s just really sad that academy players for top teams are now just being used for profit vs coming through to the squad. The likes of Jack and JJ will soon be a thing of the past unless they change these rules.

It's a stange move in one sense as Emery seemed keen on him but it's also a lot of money for someone who has hardly played. I understand it but its a shame to see another young un go.

I optimistic that these signings we place us in a good position, not better because I don’t think we’d have made top 4 this season anyway, but there will be a gulf between us and say West Ham and Brighton next season (our economic rivals).

However we really need to get to grips with the finances as we can’t be forced into sales every year. There’s only so many decent young players hidden down the back of the sofa.

I think it's a big shame but it's how things are right now. Suspect that, once our financial situation stabilises a bit, we'll start to see a few more talents stick around.

In any case, he might be the next De Bruyne but probably won't be. Nice to see our investment in youth paying off with 30m in, in a couple of days. Citeh, Chelsea (and to lesser extent, Liverpool) have been doing this for years, selling off young players for tens of millions without it impacting their first choice 11.

I do agree that it would be good to keep hold of him as he’s highly rated and very young. I do differ from most in that I haven’t seen anything in his odd moments so far to raise the pulse, similarly to Tim I think he lacks urgency.
