The only possible defence I can find for McKennie is that he only played 19 games for Leeds and it may have taken him that time to start to get up to speed, given Leeds wanted to play that game at a chaotic and breakneck speed, and failed because they changed manager and still got relegated.  He wasn't quick enough for the Premier League at the time and despite the fact that we have Unai Emery, it would be interesting if even HE can get a tune out of him.  Personally, I think it's clickbait nonsense.

The Ross Barkley noise is reassuringly dying down.

Personally, I had interpreted the hiatus to it being a done deal pending the opening of the window before being announced.

Same here. The window doesn't open till June 14th.

Agreed. Mbappé's career so far just reads like a list of all the most hateable things about modern football.

Neymar would run him close.

Toxic Twat is a great name for a band.
All female anarchist punk band, cult following in the late 70s / early 80s.   Finished every show with a cover of Orgasm Addict by The Buzzcocks.

I also thought he looked ill-suited to the speed of the Premier League, but whenever we're linked to someone I've previously thought was a bit dross, I now find myself thinking, "Unai and Monchi have clearly seen something I haven't."

Such is my trust in the current management structure that even tenuous links are enough for me to re-evaluate how someone I thought was an average player could be transformed by an Unai coaching masterclass.  They won't get it right every time, no one does, but I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt if someone they sign looks a bit iffy.  It look Tielemens a while to get going in our structure, and he was well-established in the premier league and a regular international for a top 10 international side.

Christ, if Unai brought Carlton Palmer out of retirement, I'd probably find myself thinking, "Well, let's give him some time and see."

I think most people know and would acknowledge that WM is better than what he showed at Leeds.

Whilst of course I hope he has recovered from his health problems, could I please make a request that Carlton Palmer coming to us is not mentioned even in jest?

There's a bit too much noise around Dougie for my liking.  In my opinion, we should be building our team around him not swapping him for someone who did a great invisible man impression at Leeds.

Obviously with the usual caveats about trusting Emery etc etc.

I imagine it's a view shared by everyone but some kid in a bedroom in northern Italy's version of Stevenage.

I'm told that it's actually quite nice in the centre, but I was once stuck in Rovato (near Brescia) due to an almighty train meltdown, and the bit I saw was the bleakest town you could dream of.
