I think we'll be lucky to get Kamara back before February and he's the only one who can play that role without it having a knock-on effect for the other midfielders. That's number one priority.

I can see us going for Zubimendi.

I imagine Emery likes him but we'd probably have to sell Dougie Luiz to have any chance of getting him.

Merino alongside him is very good aswell. Played briefly for Newcastle 5-6 years ago.

We need additional physicality in the centre of the park to replace Kamara.  I think we've really missed him.  Luiz has been great but lacks physical presence at times.  This would be my number one target.  When Bouba gets back, play them both and give the likes of Rogers, Buendia, Bailey etc some freedom.
Wilfred Ndidi is available on a free transfer as out of contract in the summer.
He's targeting Prem top 6 for a summer transfer

Shades of Bacuna in those words…

I haven’t played Championship manager since Nii Lamptey and Andre Sigporsson were going to be the best players the world has ever seen…. I’m not down with this anymore.

I’m up for that though after what we’ve seen of him in 2024.

And you say we cant take my opinion seriously when you are saying luiz hasnt been good in 2024? He has generally been good this whole season.  One player we shouldnt be selling is luiz. Good grief

That Mbappe guy is alright, I've heard. If his wages weren't too high, he'd be a decent signing on a free.

I meant the quote that he’s targeting a top 6 club. I may have got it wrong but didn’t Bacuna start thinking he was destined for a Champions League club whilst playing for us?

Not even slightly. Hence Nigel's point about his words being misconstrued.

Edit, with the below a broad paraphrasing rather than verbatim:

Dutch interviewer: "would you like to come back and play in the Eredivisie again one day?"

Leandro Bacuna: "Sure"

DI: "would you like to play for a big Dutch club like Ajax or PSV?"

LB: "Of course, they play in the Champions League, who wouldn't want to play in the Champions League?"

end of Bacuna boasting about how he's good enough to play in the Champions League

He was vital first half of the season. Second half he’s been average bar Forest, Sheff Utd. He’s surrendered possession way too much and got booked way too many times. His standards have dropped since before Christmas.

Ah ok so that’s not was he’s quoted as saying? My apologies 🙏🏼
