Time to do a bit of shopping in Turkey.

I think the issue with Dybala is that for all those signing-Felix-would-be-just-like-signing-Coutinho comments, signing Dybala actually would be a bit like signing Coutinho.

His body is just a bit broken now, and with the added physicality of the Premier League over Serie A it's hard to see him getting any sort of rhythm going.

I wouldn't be against it as he's clearly a smashing player, but it would be a big risk for a big wage.

He managed 2600+ minutes over 39 appearances last season so he's not as broken as some have suggested. I agree the premier league is a bit more physical but at the €3m Roma were willing to accept from SA it's not much of a risk outside of wages.

Wages are the biggest issue though. He'd be worth a season on loan and we could still pay £3m as a loan fee.

I'd also be asking the question of given the fans clearly want him to stay and as Paul says, they've got a surprisingly large number of matches out of him for the last two seasons - why are they happy to accept £3m for him to leave? His wages are high, but not stupidly so.

Like I say, if we're confident enough in his ability to play then I think he'd be a great addition. I'd just be surprised if we risked it.

I'd put money on us NOT signing a proper 'name' attacking player. It'll be another loan, and it'll be someone like Zaniolo again.

To avoid a quotathon @Dave it probably is a bit of an outdated view and there’s pros and cons. All transfers have risks wherever they’re coming from. I suppose it’s just looking at their all round game and apart from Jimenez’ goalscoring over the last few seasons I don’t know a great deal about him.
We’d probably be better trying to find similar profile players direct from say Argentina, then loaning them to sister clubs in the hope they’ll thrive, then be good enough for us. This is harder the more we operate at the top level but would still be beneficial for FFP etc. I presume that will be part of the plan in the future if it isn’t already.

Out of contract next summer and they've signed Soule as his replacement I'd guess.

I think you're right. I reckon there will be quite a lot of names from big teams moving on loan at the end of this week once the clubs realise that nobody is buying them.

I read he won't leave Turkey this summer due to huge tax implications although would fit our style pretty well.

If enzo goes i think the squad depth improvement is a myth. I thought both would be kept here to give us more options but doesnt appear to bw the case

Buendia has had  half a pre season and has had virtually any minutes so far so they dont think he is ready yet. So whats it going to be like for mings and kamara? I doubt eithee will kick a ball for us by November or maybe even December

I think once injuries kick in i think its going to be the same as last year but without as much quality as we havent replaced diaby and i dont think luiz has been replaced either. Hopefully that changes in next few days

Ffs. People seriously trying to say they have cut their wage bill and their signings are all.on no more that 65k a week. Which is just total bullocks. Felix ain't dropping from £300 to 60k a week. Toney isn't rejecting £45 million over 3 years for £60k a week at Chelsea.

Players make the big bucks on bonuses and commercial rights. If memory serves Felix was on a basic €55k a week at Madrid (possibly after tax) but would get big bonuses for appearances, goals, CL qualification, second, third season etc.

Its just all corrupt and Chelsea are the main piss takers - its almost like they are teasing the FA to actually do something against them
