Wonderful performance by the lads.
Remy junior’s first European match he was able to make because of work commitments- and what an experience he’ll always now remember- Villa Park under the lights in a euro game.
Personally, the gutting feeling after spuds has now been flushed down the toilet. Ajax were poor but still had to be despatched by a professional performance, we could have had 8.
The atmosphere was brilliant and the noise when Ollie scored and limbs where were sat !
Few Dutch fans all over the place in the home end too.
Had a delicious foot long hot dog, followed by a cold pint with music playing outside the ground, bought a discounted shirt from the shop, won a bet on Watkins and Diaby to score, sensibly left 5 mins before full time and got home in 35mins missed all the gridlock.
A very happy Villa fan.
One quick unrelated note - doesn’t matter what shape or form they are but a nose started to work at my firm and doesn’t talk footie as much (nothin to say obviously) but I’m taken aback that still after meeting my first nose like 40 years ago this one is also a twat that does not get on with anyone.

To counter the guy on the mic miserableness, I quite like it and I am a middle aged grump. They missed a good opportunity last night after Hi Ho silver lining and before th teams came out to just let the crowd build the atmosphere. Everyone was in their seat you could hear the Holte starting to find its voice but the fucking speakers were blasting out the Chemical Brothers and you couldn’t hear yourself think. They really need an events company to start having a more serious think about how they do this.

PAU WOW TORRES.

Surely it should be KAPAU TORRES - proper Batman vibes then

The "wow" aside, it made a pleasant change for the team's names not to be announced as if they were about to take part in a WWE rumble. Stretching syllables impresses nobody.

The Witton Lane side was closed so all home fans had to leave via Trinity Rd side, it was heaving in the Holte Car Park.

bizarre foot traffic management from West Midland's finest. Directed those in the Doug Ellis down Yew Tree Road then blocked the bottom of the road and tried to filter everyone into Witton Station - most of which were Ajax. They then had to let the Villa fans climb over the front of the police vans to get into Witton Road to get away. Could of turned ugly if the Ajax lot had been so minded - luckily they weren't and everyone just moaned about how bad it was.

Enjoyed last night, I thought Ajax hardly posed a threat thoughout the game that's probably why their fans were so quiet most of the night.

They didn't create anything apart from the clearance off the line in the last minute of the first half. Not one chance in the second half even in our normally vulnerable period.

I was thinking, the media always go on about Unai watching videos of opponents for hours on end before a match, but their coaching team clearly hadn’t watched any of our matches, as they didn’t seem to realise that in that period, applying even the slightest bit of extra pressure = goal.

David Moyes will be well aware.

I can see a certain someone putting pressure on him to create more of an atmosphere if he wants to keep doing it...

He will soon be letting customers know what merch is available in the concession stands.

I thought the co-commentator on TNT was very good, seemed to know alot about us. Don't know who she was.

Yes she was really good. Definitely the best commentator I’ve heard this season.

I don’t usually notice the commentary but she came across very well. Either well researched or maybe has an interest in the club.

She’s done her research. She’s worked a lot as a coach in the men’s game, she knows her stuff.
