The Witton Lane side was closed so all home fans had to leave via Trinity Rd side, it was heaving in the Holte Car Park.

What was going on with that big queue in the passage alongside the players car park up towards the Trinity Road?  I've never seen that there before and when I finally got up to the gates out on to Trinity Road, there didn't seem any reason for it.  It was made worse by some clown trying to antagonise people by bizarrely singing "where were you when we were shit?" repeatedly. 

Wasn't the Reverser by any chance, was it?

Bit of a stroll in truth. Ajax are a really poor team, to be honest every team we have played in this competition so far has been. McGinn was our best I thought, certainly left it all out there before his holiday. Torres looked a bit more sure of himself and Diaby had his best game in a long while. Bailey's second that finished the contest was a quality goal. Luiz was the one who disappointed a bit, little loose with his passing and coasting in comparison to McGinn.

Thought their guy was hard done by with both of his yellows.

Good experience for Iroegbunam, Rogers Nd Duran.

I get the feeling that may be the last we see of Carlos.

Watkins got a stud to the knee, stayed on long enough to score... I like that hunger.

Carlos has been really poor this year - v Chelsea especially. The long term injury probably makes him look worse than he was - not sure if he is carrying too much weight or not.
We need a Saudi call for him in the summer.

Its quite sad seeing the state this Ajax team are in. As a kid I loved the team of the mid nineties that included the likes of Seedorf, Overmars, Bergkamp, Kluivert, the De Boers etc

I was in that, I expected like in other European games, that the gate behind the club shop would be open so you come out by Witton island, it wasn’t. So we had to turn around, against people already coming up behind us and walk back through the Trinity gates and down Nelson Rd to reach the same point, when we got there the gates had been opened.All seemed more than a bit unnecessary and dangerous.

Villa Park really looked the part last night. A special night under the lights.

For me, given discussions elsewhere online, it would be a real lack of imagination to bulldoze it rather than redevelop from it .

They need to ditch this lightshow thing. Less people have done it every time and it's now looking a bit bare.

I'm all for a kick-ass pre-kickoff explosion of energy, but if we're going to do it we need to do it properly. It looks like we've had someone in the marketing department to follow through on some brainstorming ideas. We should go and find a professional company that specialises in these sorts of things to come up with something really special and unique to us that looks like a professional display.

I really enjoyed last night, as others have said Diaby was much better and Ajax were there for the taking. Quite a few long stoppages and only five minutes in total added on time. Confidence booster for Dhuran as well, he can't half get some powere in his shots.

Yes she was really good. Definitely the best commentator I’ve heard this season.
