I have no recollection of ever having heard of Morgan Rogers before we were linked with him in 2024, so my knowledge is news to me! Maybe my account was hacked.

It's probably best that Morgs didn't join in 2021. He had more time to develop elsewhere, instead of suffering the disaster of the Gerard era

I remember him coming on with us 5 up at Brammal Lane for his debut, missed a good chance and I thought in time he might make the grade but he's nowhere near ready.

He didn't really develop though being as Palmer was being sold to Chelsea for £40 mil whilst Rogers was sold for £1mil. I suspect without Emery spotting something and purchasing him, he would have been a Philogene where sometimes he would win matches on his own in the championship, and other times he wasn't even noticeable on the pitch.

He scored a very classy goal at Stamford Bridge for Boro.

The big change for me this season is that he looks very calm and composed. Like he’s realised how good he is and takes the all the time his ability gives him.

Love him, but he just needs to realise that the edge of your own penalty area is not the place to try something fancy. He did tonight, and it led to a shot from outside the box for them that lifted the crowd and gave them a bit of impetus. They scored within a minute or two of that.

I agree, I get annoyed with that too. However, I do think that’s what makes him and us so dangerous though. When it works and we get through the opposition, it almost always ends up with us travelling the full length of the pitch.

He also must have instruction to do it, otherwise Unai would have knocked it out of him by now.

Absolutely believe it's instructed - the number of times we do it cannot be accident. I think the upsides are twofold:

- The opposition are most vulnerable right when think they aren't. 'Transition' is a word that gets bandied around, but almost all of Emery's tactics are aimed at getting opportunities in space when the opposition not quite in their (much practiced) defensive shape.
- The mindset it reinforces in our players - you are good enough to take the ball at any point on the pitch and dominate the opposition,  and your teammates are good enough to cover for you if it doesn't work.

The mental part of the game is the bit that elite teams build into players by just existing - imagine what practice sessions at Real Madrid are like... I seriously think half they reason they make it through tough games is that it doesn't enter their heads that they won't.

Yep, see that a lot and it does drive me mental but as others have said, they must be encouraged to do it. However, sometimes there's nothing wrong with a boot up the pitch.
