Yeah, if you want to play yourself out of the team right now then booting it up the pitch is the way to go.

We will concede a handful of goals through the season by playing out from the back but it’s factored in and out weighed by all the positives Garyth mentions.

The mental strength this team has is incredible and a joy to watch, and that’s built on by playing this way. After years of watching plenty weak as piss Villa teams, what we’re witnessing and thoroughly enjoying now is just beautiful to behold.

Yes I'll take the odd giveaway here and there because now this team just wants to keep the ball rather than hoofing it away and inviting pressure.
The possession football is a joy to behold.
Leaving 3 attackers up for corners is just brilliant btw!

I now laugh watching other teams hoofing the ball away or sending in hopeful crosses, feels like it must have back in the day when you've moved to 442 and the opposition are still in the W formation.

I agree, I get annoyed with that too. However, I do think that’s what makes him and us so dangerous though. When it works and we get through the opposition, it almost always ends up with us travelling the full length of the pitch.

He also must have instruction to do it, otherwise Unai would have knocked it out of him by now.

No but tactical or not he needs to protect the ball better. McGinn or Grealish in the past, at worst they are getting a free kick. Wrap their body around the ball so if the opponent dives in then it's a foul. Free kick never a bad result especially if they are getting on top.

I think he’s doing ok.

He won't get any better with that attitude!  ;D We have to be demanding!

Great goal, mostly great performance, love the passion but, needs to control his frustration and be careful about getting involved in afters - thankfully, Bogarde was in the mix with him at the end because he was looking slightly unhinged. :) Other teams will come looking for him on that level, if he continues to show his emotion.

He is already being targeted and getting no protection from Refs.

Sod that.
It’s not frustration. He was looking out for a teammate.
Fair play to him.

I bet the Liverpool lad wishes he had teammates who had his back like that.

Agreed. He/we need to get smart to that.

He’s a brilliant player.

We legitimately have one of the best players in the PL.

Indeed, Tielemans, Konsa, Kamara and McGinn.
