Speaks really well, doesn't he?

Quote
Aston Villa's Morgan Rogers, speaking to BBC Match of the Day about his second-half free-kick: “I call it the Emi Buendia. He did it the in the last game before the break. It's something I've been practising, probably not as hard as him or as much as I should.

“Once he was off the pitch, I looked around and there was nobody else that really practised them, so I thought ‘why not?’ I know I’ve got them in the locker. It’s about consistency. From so close, it’s just about getting it up and down as quickly as possible.”

On celebrating with the set-piece coach: “He bangs on at me to do it more. Sometimes I don't do it as well as I should. That one was for him. He does his homework on all free-kicks, especially attacking free-kicks – how high we have to get it, how much it has to come down. He’s really good at stuff like that. That one was for him.”

On Villa's position: “The season kind of shapes in this big period. There’s no break, there are no gaps, it’s just relentless. The table kind of shapes how it will be until the rest of the season. We have to make sure we’re in and around the mix. It’s a good start.”

I find him very frustrating for most of the game.
His hold up play needs improving,
His tracking back sometimes seems half hearted.
Soft free kicks given away.
But then there is the absolute genius

Same, he is brilliant but just his basic passing can let him down.

He is still influencing games (massively sometimes) even when he isn’t plying at the levels we expect from him.

A couple of turns he did today i thought he was playing a different level

But then would not make the right pass .  Saying that there was a few making the wrong pass today

Making the right pass is something he can learn. He's going to be unreal when he does.

I don’t find him frustrating at all - he gives the ball away because he is always looking to be available and get us forward. He could avoid that and keep the ball more, but then we’d win less. He’s fantastic and showed that today.

Thought the flick with his left for the first goal was quality. Free kick, did very well to get it on target but think we would be fuming if Martinez just watched that sail past him in the centre of the goal. Woeful effort to challenge Struijk late on that Martinez made the great save from. Mixed sublime with ridiculous. Doesn't let mistakes faze him.

I love his humility in talking about the free kick.
