Cool pic from the game, they're all perfectly in sync.

The thing that struck me was that yes it was Luton, but it was exactly how a top top side wins a game like that. Minimum effort, pretty much complete control, and you just knew he could have gone through the gears.

Think that is the important thing with the extra games we are going to be playing in Europe (this season and hopefully beyond).  Given we are playing on Thursday nights, we might not be at our best on Sundays and a bit of zip might be missing, but it's important that we find ways to win even if we aren't at our best.

As a former centre-half, I have to admit that's got me a little bit tingly in the downstairs. A thing of true beauty.

Luton are a very poor side, but to their credit hadn't lost by more than a single goal since the opening day. Think that shows how ruthless and hungry we were, it should have been several more too.

One little minor quibble from today...whoever has told Dave Boulton to start acting like an overexcitable 20 year old needs to be given a quiet word.

I'm not sure when he started doing our PA but he's been on it since I've been going (1997) and very good he is too.

The stuff like shouting "Yipee aye yay" right before kick off and then over-egging the names of our goalscorers I just find very cringy. Disappointing if he's been told to change his style/tone just to appeal to a demograph of our fanbase as it's very unnecessary. It's something you'd expect to hear at a Reading or Fulham.

Not quite as bad as that one time we played music after scoring a goal which led to a revolt against Krulak on here but I'd rather it just got cut out and he announced the goalscorer in his normal professional manner.
I thought the same. Very cringeworthy. He’s no doubt had instructions from above.

Yep. He sounds so uncomfortable doing it and it's cheap, tacky and classless.

The look of bewilderment around everyone as he trots out such unnecessary words.  We don't need the boxification of our players names, leave that to the fans if they so wish.  The announcer should just announce the information in an audible fashion.  Sticking "Super" in front of John McGinn's name is ridiculous and detracts from his Superness.

Another win for us roll on Notts Forest.

Apparently it pisses them off loads when people call them 'Notts Forest'.

So with that in mind, yep, roll on Notts Forest.

Its kinda weird supporting Villa right now.

As a fan of over 40 years, I am conditioned to the 'Villa way' of raising expectations, only to fall at the simplest hurdle.

So While Luton are who they are, I saw this as a bit of a banana skin.

And apart from the Chuckle Brothers at the back making the decision to keep up our recent habit of scoring four per game, there was nothing like a banana skin in sight. Nothing.

So delighted with the result that gives us a bit of a cushion from 5th spot to 6th.

One thing that did piss me off about the game on Sunday actually had nothing to do with us at all, but the people over at SkySports talking about two games in particular. On one hand, you had Robert Earnshaw with his cock in hand, spraying semen around at the excitement of Liverpool dicking Forest. On the other hand, you had Clinton Morrison, practically crying & talking about how boring it was that Villa were dicking Luton. They really are scum...

If the H&V print edition still existed, I think it'd be a shoe-in for the front cover of the Xmas'23 publication.

As it is, it kinda reminds me of:

It annoyed me a bit last night that all MOTD2 could think to talk about after our game was set pieces, the main thrust of which was hilarious 'bants' taking the mickey out of Murphy for his comments about teams having specialist coaches. Very little about our superb run of form and that we've now cemented outselves in that top 5 pack.

Is it really any surprise though ? At least we weren't on last for a change

That irritated me a bit as well.

Having said that, on 606 they were asking whether we could in fact win the league. The Villa fan they had on was quite sensible (unlike many of the other callers) and said no, but that top 4 was achievable.

As ever, I found the three of them a bit dreary on the whole but they did pick up on how excellent Diaby is and highlighted that.
