They were/are shite but they've got some spirit about them and didn't let their heads drop.

Random question, but who does commentary on matches on VillaTV now Woodward is no more?

Pretty sure it's Mark Reagan since he left WM a couple of years ago.

The thing that struck me was that yes it was Luton, but it was exactly how a top top side wins a game like that. Minimum effort, pretty much complete control, and you just knew he could have gone through the gears.

They pronounce the name of their own town incorrectly when they sing and it bothers me.

Good win, didn’t have to get out of first gear though as they were terrible.
Upping the price of a beer to £6.30 a pint is taking the piss though.

They must have seen the price of a pint in Amsterdam the last few days and thought we'd be happy to pay as little as £6.30

About as comfortable as it gets but it was a tough watch.

Fair play to the Luton fans, who all stayed until the end. But never seen a PL side show an absolute lack of ambition.

And Nakamba’s hugs and chats with the Villa players after the final whistle pretty much confirmed what we already knew that he was a popular and good egg within the camp.

Not a game that will live long in the memory with us playing at testimonial pace, their only ambition seemingly being to avoid a cricket score and some wasteful play in the final third.

Good change to bring in Bailey who gave us width and pace to stretch them, we and Zaniola really needed those early chances to find the net as after, he was a rare weak point.

Yeah, they didn't even try.

Someone behind me did say they were playing as to protect their GD.

Might be a bit of truth in that as they're only a point off 17th still and ultimately we've hit 4s and a 6 at VP already this season so Luton wouldn't have wanted that type of scoreline.

Ultimately we only stayed up on GD a little over three years ago so I try not to criticise that approach too much as we weren't much difference when we were losing 4-0 at Leicester in the game before lockdown.

It sounds very defeatist but it's probably a better tactic than whatever Sheffield United have been doing. Luton have beaten Everton and gotten draws from Forest and Wolves. Maybe not Wolves but the other 2 are teams that could be in an around that relegation battle later in the season. It's a realistic, if somewhat depressing, plan to survive.

Yes, I've noticed that. It's weird.
