The good news is it’s between us and Spurs for that last spot and they are utter shit
Brighton have to play Man Utd, Man City, Arsenal and us in their last 6 games. I don’t think its cut and  dry they will finish above us either.

Looked a game to far. Poor all over the pitch. Need players back ASAP...

We were not great but they had plenty of help from the ref which is normal at TTOW.
I thought they should have been tired but we were leggy all over the pitch and some pretty awful performances from Buendia  and Ramsey which made it even more difficult for everyone else.
They weren’t great but the ref was good for a goal advantage.

Frustratingly poor, but not surprising. Our squad is pretty light and with the injuries we are quite short. Need to bounce back next week.

They stopped playing I thought for the last 20 mins or so, disappointing that we couldn't force the equaliser though we did come very close.

Annoying but the run was always going to end sooner rather than later. The players seem a bit jaded and we're struggling to play with intensity lately. Newton Heath were winning a high proportion of second balls so we couldn't build our usual attacks. Plus we struggled to deal with the balls in behind. I thought we missed Cash today, in particular. Bailey might have been a good outlet too, as we needed to bypass their dominant midfield more.

Could really do with the injured players coming back quick, because at the moment Emery is pretty short of options.

Frustrating because you know we’re better than we showed today and even still, we were in the game throughout. Such fine margins but if that rat boy shot doesn’t get a deflection and we get in level at half time, it could have been different.

Thought Casemiro was the difference between the two sides.

Villa's oldest player is Young.

Lesson to learn for JJ today. He did a bit better in the second half, but completely lost the battle to Casemiro. Hopefully a learning experience that’ll help him to build his game.

Ball retention was terrible in the first half. Tactically, I thought the high line was a little too high!

I don't think the line was any higher than usual but Rashford's pace made it look like that.

Donk is fine as a stand in for a couple of games, but we don’t half miss kamara’s dynamism, particularly when luiz is well marked. 8 points from our next 4 games will give us a chance.

Possibly because he kicked the fuck out of him and the ref did nothing to protect him?

difficult to play at OT when you are down 2 or 3 players - Buendia, Dendonker and JJ take note.  Even then it would not have been robin hood if we had snatched a point.
