I don’t consider letting the second eldest outfielder in the league leave, a mistake in of itself. But if Ashley Young was keeping Cash out the team then not replacing him IS a mistake.

Perhaps we have Monchi working on something but it seems a strange one.

Agree, Young was terrific last season - I simply can't see the logic in not giving him a further 12 month extension. UE made the decision not long after last season ended, and here we are nearly 3 months on with no replacement. I'm amazed a new striker hasn't been signed and a better keeper to replace Olsen.

Lots of attacking threat needed and talked about, but in light of Ty’s injury has anyone heard of any more CB’s talked about or rumoured ?

He's just signed for Everton though?

Some suggestion he hasn’t signed yet and has got an offer from us. Could be utter bullshit of course

Yeah might well be. Also annoying that he’s going to Everton just before we play them.

We should also have signed Harvey Barnes - it was reported that he was open to moving to VP.

It feels to me that our choice was between Diaby and Barnes, and I’m happy with the former if that’s the case.

Jack Harrison last minute trolley dash apparently.

Zaniolo possibly to Newcastle now… not sure of source on this one though

Looks like this Harrison story is true. Not a superstar signing but in terms of replacing Buendia’s qualities when we wouldn’t have budgeted for it, it makes sense. He’d certainly help us with the press which based on yesterdays evidence, is sorely needed.

If we do it’ll be funny and he’s a good player.

Up to the player apparently due to a relegation clause being met. Pretty awkward in that medical bay right now, I imagine.

Harrison to Everton was only ever a loan move apparently and it does sound like we’ve made a move for him on a perm.

Adds a bit of spice to the next match, I suppose.

In a classic Villa move, Harrison's also injured until after the international break.
