Morning reports linking us to Kessie and F Torres at Barca. We've supposedly bid €20mil for Kessie but they want closer to 30. Torres apparently costs €35 mil.

Everton apparently beating us to Gnonto.

Links to Kieran Tierney too.

Everton are patently not beating us to anything we haven't already disregarded

Yeah, I feel like it's another Barnes situation. He may have been on our list but I don't think we seriously pursued it.

Much as Gnonto impressed me when we played Leeds last season I wouldn't want us gambling big money on him.  My bet would be we don't buy any players from PL clubs (or relegated clubs) this summer.

Apart from Tielemans of course.

At least we've got previous with Kessie from when he was available on a free when his Milan contract was ending and he chose Barcelona over us.

Doesn't appear to be part of Barca's plans and any fee they get for him would be pure profit so would help their FFP situation.

With pre-season getting started, hopefully we'll see signs of things starting to crank up over the next couple of weeks.

The thing I was reading linked to a Spanish site/paper and they said both Kessie and Torres had wanted to stay at Barca but its become clear they don't feature in their plans and both are now open to leaving. It implies Torres is actually interested in us, and that we're actually in some kind of negotiations for Kessie.

Would be funny if the reason Pau Torres' signing was allowed to run on so long was so we can announce 2 Torres at the same time.

I read the same article. For Torres, it said he was slowly coming round to the idea that he won't be playing at Barcelona. I thought his quotes from the other week were in line with that.

And that Kessie is attracted to playing in the Premier League.

And apt if it happened in Birmingham where Tolkien grew up.

I forgot F Torres was the guy who said he was putting his phone on airplane mode until July 10th.

Torres seems a popular Spanish name and we're after two. Could be very confusing given we've had two Traores which still has me stopping to think which one even though one is no longer with us.
