Doubt anything will happen but I’m expecting rumours galore on Monday when Monchi’s in town

I really like Kamara but I don't think there would be many people who agree that he is currently better than Rice.

Rice is an attacking midfielder, Kamara is a DM.

Not sure i'd agree, i'd say they're both 'central' midfielders who can play defensive or possibly more attacking if required.

Kamara doesn't dominate games like Rice does at the moment but his technique is probably a bit better, he could end up being as good. Needs to stay fit for longer though for starters.

No he's not, and if he was 15 goals in about 250 games would be piss poor

I'd be quite happy to accept that Rice is a better player than Kamara right now. But Kamara was free and Rice costs more than (probably) our entire annual transfer budget. And as others have said, I'm not sure he's *that* much better. Plus, let's be honest, the only clubs spending that kind of money on a marginal gain are ones higher up the food chain than us right now.

I'd hope we have more than £105m to spend this summer.
Based on what?  We've only spent that amount once, and that was when we had to build practically an entire squad from scratch.  Every other season we've been in the £60m-£80m range.

When we spent not very much in January it was strongly hinted that we were keeping our powder dry for the summer.

It was, and my feeling is that we are certainly going to try. However, my only caveat is getting some more high quality free transfers, like Tielemans. If we get more of his ilk on big, big salaries then that's the only excuse really isn't it?

Rice is very good at steping forward with the ball, but he's far from an attacking midfielder.  First and foremost he's a DM who works very well in a pair / double pivot.

Are you confusing him with his best mate Mount?

Calling Rice attacking midfielder is like saying Harry Maguire is a centre half.

Lets hope Purslow helps West Ham spend the Rice transfer fee.

Declan Rice was the only player in Europe's top five leagues to register 30+ in each of these metrics in 2022/23:

◉ 63 interceptions
◉ 55 clearances
◉ 40 take-ons completed
◉ 37 chances created
◉ 37 aerial duels won
◉ 36 shots

Kamara on a free was a fantastic bit of business, but at the moment I'd have Rice ahead of him.

And if Leicester are flogging Madisson for £40m I'd be all over that. Miles better than Buendia and Coutinho, an instant first team upgrade.

If we are NOT in for Maddison at 40mill, we must be bringing in a hell of a player.
