I'll add that if we could take one player from West Ham that would make a big difference,  it would be Bowen
I agree Bowen would be a decent fit for us, but Rice is elite.  I agree we're ok with Dogie and Kamara, but Rice would improve every team in the PL (well, squad option for Man City, but they're not a real club)

I wouldn't trade Kamara for Rice...

Man City seemed to only be bidding for Rice to keep him away from Arsenal. They've already got Rodri, just signed Kovaceic and still have Kalvin Phillips making a fortune collecting splinters. Straight out of City's playbook though to sign players to keep them away from rival clubs.

I think Rice is a great buy for Arsenal, and Maddison is a great buy for spurs, sadly. I would have hoped we would have been in for Maddison especially at £40m.

Didn't we nearly sign Rice on loan in one of the Bruce seasons?

He's Cov, isn't he? Always likes to do well against us. He may not have come. Money talks obvs but if it were a straight choice between us and someone else on similar terms, I wouldn't be surprised if he turned us down.

I guess midfield is one area where we're pretty well stocked, although he's have been a huge upgrade on Buendia.

I thought he loved West Ham? If so, why's he leaving?

He was a Chelsea fan growing up.

Oh ok.

I don't like him then.

I wouldn't trade Kamara for Rice...

I would, in a straight swap. However Kamara for free is far better than Rice for £105m, and though I rate Rice as better we still have a excellent player.

Madison for £40m vs Buendia for £30m is a different matter. Madison is significantly better, and worth far more.

Both Spurs and Arsenal have upgraded their first team with those signings. Got to feel sorry for Leicester fans Madison out and Winks in!

I still hope we sign Barnes, and if Madison went for £40m we may well get him for less than I thought.

Maddison for £40m doesn't sound right at all, given the market right now.  Maybe he's got a relegation clause making him more affordable?  Maybe it's the impact of only 12 months left on his contract? Either way, at £40m I'll be stunned if there isn't more competition for his signature.  I'd like us to be involved in the bidding, I think he'd be immediately ahead of Buendia and Coutinho in the pecking order.

But in Emery we trust, and if he doesn't fancy him, so be it!

I imagine Maddidon fancied London.

I really like him as a player and would have loved to have signed him.

Or to force them to up their price so they can’t afford other signings

See Harry Maguire, though that was quite funny in fairness

West Ham were already doing that. Orginally they were asking for £120m.

I think Kamara is already a better player than Rice.

Offer me one of the two for free & Im picking Kamara every day of the week & twice on Tuesday.

Don't get me wrong, Rice is excellent & I would love him at the club, but for me, he isn't better than Kamara currently is & wont be when they both reach their potential ceilings either.

Im not a huge fan of Maddison either. He is a pound shop Grealish & flatters to deceive more often then not.

He is better than Buendia though, but I think we can do better than Maddison.

All of this is just my humble opinion of course...

I disagree with you Pablo.  Won't be the first or last time.  All about opinions as you say.
