Slightly concerned by Fabrizio’s comments on Emi today and the possibility that he will move.

Oh well. Time will tell… hopefully he’ll get a massive new contract here.

What did he say?

Nothing on Twitter that I can see.

But where would he go? Who a) needs a goalkeeper, b) can win the Champions League, and c) could afford him?

And he will only leave if Unai wants him to leave.  Our days as a selling club are over

Oof,  don't set yourself up for disappointment like that! There are maybe three clubs on earth who aren't 'selling clubs', and we ain't one of them. We're in a stronger position than most, however, and certainly much stronger than we were.

Someone will need to really, really want him as he will cost a fortune. Good luck.

Ward-Prowse would either play next to Kamara allowing Douglas Luiz to finally play further forward and unleash his inner Ronaldinho.
Hopefully Ward-Prowse can play for another team that will be relegated next season, and come nowhere near Bodymoor Heath.

Yeah saw some supposed 'insider' called 'Dean Jones' say he'd 'heard' he would cost '£40m'.

There are a lot of football folk who really don't get it yet, aren't there?

As much as I love Emi if a big bid came in and the club wanted to sell I wouldn't be dead set against it but only if we bring in a real replacement. There are plenty of top level keepers who whilst not world class like Emi we wouldn't see much of a point difference from keeping errors come the end of the season.
If he foes it'll be for mega money and because the club decide to cash in.

However that said I cant see him leaving this summer, then next season after we've won the conference league and finished top 4 he'll be going nowhere haha!

People keep mentioning Walker-Peters but from what I've seen he's crap.
I would have rated him lower than that but you know more about playing than I do that so I accept your judgement.

Ward-Prowse would either play next to Kamara allowing Douglas Luiz to finally play further forward and unleash his inner Ronaldinho.

Or we’d play him at right back, he’s a very good passer and crosser of the ball, and would suit  our style of keeping possession. He likes a long range pass so can switch it quickly to Moreno or clip it over the top to Watkins. He’s played there previously.

At right back he can step into midfield which seems to be in fashion for right backs lately especially in possession based sides which we are aspiring to become (Walker at Man City, Alexander-Arnold at Liverpool).

Hell no.

I despise this new "tactic" of playing your RB in midfield.

Watching Liverpool do it is painful as Alexander-Arnold goes wandering where he likes & Konate has to fill the Rb slot, leaving massive gaps in what has become a back three. And Alexander-Arnolds goals & assist stats have actually gone down by moving him into an advanced position. But if they want Alexander Arnold to play him in midfield enough, they should just give him a midfield position.

The only reason Man City can pull it off is because Walker is fast as fuck & the whole team cost the annual military budget of the USA. And even then, people can get at them via their right hand side now.

Could you imagine the incredibly slow Ward-Prowse playing there?

Gives me nightmares just thinking about it.

What did he say?

It was apparently on one of his transfer shows but this is what was said:

“There is a possibility that Emi Martínez could change clubs due to ‘goalkeepers domino’ this summer. Look at English clubs including Chelsea, Tottenham.”

It seems ironic that those 2 clubs both finished beneath us this year, so I’d take it with a pinch of salt. But then again, who knows… Emi is the backbone of this team in many ways, and to lose him this summer would be a real kick in the bollocks - just as we threaten to push on again. But then again, why would he leave???

Linked with Pedro Goncalves of Sporting CP today, winger with a decent goals and assists record. No idea if he is any good.

Spurs couldn't afford his left sock and literally the only position at Chelsea that's absolutely sorted is goalkeeper.

He's good but not for his buy-out of €80m of which Sporting would only get half.
