What I'd love to see Villa do in the Summer:

Pau Torres- £30 Million
Nico Williams or Samuel Chukwueze - £40 Million
Ugarte or Guendouzi- £30-£45 Million
Lee Kang IN - £15 Million
Mateo Retegui- £18 Million

= No More than £150 Million

Domestically, I'd be looking to see if we can get Eze from Palace.  He'd cost a bit, but I think he's a Top 6 player.  He's the closest thing to Grealish in the Premier League, I think.

Eze and Olise are both great players wasted in a team that doesn't have the central midfield or strikers to allow them to shine.

If the links to Asensio are correct though I think he's pretty similar to Eze and would fill that gap superbly.

I don't know about Eze. A gripe about Buendia is that while he's got talent aplenty and then some, he never bosses a game. Eze strikes me as similar.

I think eze is more like Bailey as a player, commits defenders and tries to make something happen every time he gets the ball. I don't mind players like that giving the ball away.

For someone who's role is more about pass and move, opening teams up by constantly moving the focus of the attack then you need to take much better care of possession. Buendia annoys me because he gives possession away cheaply far too often, either by being weak in the challenge or by just playing shit passes. The worst thing is it's caused by him playing the game at the wrong speed, he either dwells in possession or rushes things, when he gets things right in the middle he has got talent but it's just not often enough.

I know he's popular but I think replacing him in the 11 is more important than replacing Bailey right now. I can see why Argentina had a look and then haven't come back, MacAllister does the same job but to a significantly better standard.

I agree about Emi Buendia Paul.  I like him, but think it is one position we can definitely improve on (doesn’t look like Coutinho will be the player we need).

I also think it is one position (as opposed to a striker) where there are plenty of quality options around and I think it could be an area where we could get a marquee signing.  Someone like that with Buendia as back up will improve us.

Emi will be a bit part player by the time next season rolls around, I'm sure.  Left, Right and the second striker/advanced midfielder role will be upgraded and that means Emi will be a squad player.  I have always though him quite useful as a supersub.  Dani Ceballos said to be in advanced talks?  Started for Real Madrid last night, looks a talent but a bit of a highlights player.  Eze is that type of player too.

I don't watch la liga but I'm really confused by people seeming to suggest Ceballos is an attacking footballer. He can't be, he hardly ever scores or assists. He's either a DM so that doesn't really matter or he's a shit attacking player.

Granted, Gerrard had him out of the team quite a bit, but you would have to say Buendia hasn't really lived up to the hype. I would keep him around but not sure he should be an automatic first -teamer.

For us he'd defintely be more defensive, I'd see him competing for a spot with Luiz and Kamara. Him and Guendouzi would give us some serious options in midfield.

I'd rather Sanson back.

I'm not sure that Emery is 100% sold on Buendia to be honest.

He's done well enough for us this season, but we will need a better player in that position if we are to progress.  I like Emi, but think he gets found out a bit against the top players.

It's suspect if we're going for Ceballos as a DM, we might not also be in for Guendouzi. Just can't see us having a squad with 4-5 defending midfielders (depending on whether or not we flog Donk) plus Chambers who can also play there at a push, and Tim Iroegbunam potentially too

Nor me.  He was poor at Arsenal.

Spanish press reporting agreement almost done with Dani Ceballos..... and earlier there was talk of Pau Torres too, so we can assume that's not happening then!!

A considerable upgrade on Buendia.

Who, Ceballos? 0 goals in 50 games for Arsenal, 0 goals and 3 assists in 30 games this season. I don't rate him.

Nor me, he was rubbish at Arsenal..too lightweight for the PL.
