As Unai has said multiple times that we'll only be buying players who will definitely improve us, there's no way that Tyler Adams or JWP will be coming in. That's yesterdays thinking

What about Tielemanns or "Madders" though? They're very talented.

I like JWP and think he suffers from people writing him off as a free kick merchant, but they'd also want stupid money for him. Same with Eze, who I do really like

I like Tielemans, but he's been awful this season either injured or overweight and disinterested. If he was back to his best he'd be a big addition but I think we can get someone as good who hasn't got that question mark over him.

I don't see Maddison as a midfielder in the same way, he's very much an AM. I do rate him but, as above, he'd never come here anyway.

He's Newcastle bound. £60m - more money than sense.

Barnes would probably be my choice of the Leicester players, since we could do with a player like him and he's quite good. I would have thought we'll be capable of finding someone a little better and a little cheaper from overseas though.

Under Unai, Barnes would be an even better player, but for the cost.

Upgrades then McGinn has only scored once from midfield this season
And no more than 3 in Prem in a season.
He has actually missed some guilt-edged scoring chances, so he will clearly be replaced by a goal-scoring midfielder in my opinion.

Spanish press reporting agreement almost done with Dani Ceballos..... and earlier there was talk of Pau Torres too, so we can assume that's not happening then!!

A considerable upgrade on Buendia.

Who, Ceballos? 0 goals in 50 games for Arsenal, 0 goals and 3 assists in 30 games this season. I don't rate him.

Nor me, he was rubbish at Arsenal..too lightweight for the PL.

I feel I can trust Emery to sign the right players and always suspected Ceballos would be one he would target.

But who can replace his goggle celebration? Tell me that!

How much you reckon we'd get for McGinn if we sold him? He's been really good since Unai came in but if you could get someone to do the same but with added goals then you go for it.

30m and I'd sell  8)

Absolutely no chance, he's been one of the best midfielders in the league since Christmas, and he's got a few trophies to lift before he's done here.

We want a squad so that we can pick horses for courses, cover for additional games and injuries without a drop in levels and make meaningful in-game tactical changes.

You don't get that by selling members of the current first choice 11. You give them real competition for their place and make them compete to be in the team.

I should emphasise that the idea of McGinn upgrade wouldn't mean McGuinn should therefore be leaving the club more he will be given a role within the squad rather than starter.

It's a hard one when he's in form or if he had shown us the Championship's McGinn who scored goals and showed more at Prem Level.

In the Premier League, he's proved that he's not capable of reaching the same goalscoring heights, despite his recent form in his displays . There seems a fresh enthusiasm and vigour.

McGinn will never be short on that vigorous effort though. He also adds a distinct dynamism to the team but how much is that type of player valued in Emery philosophy of football?
It's possible that Ginny would be replaced in the first 11 by a different type of player with more footy intelligence and scoring ability but he'll still be a member of a squad where all players must play their part.
