Do we have anyone ‘ in the know ‘ here ?

A good ITK these days is hard to find.
So please be gentle with these posts of Footy
ITK
Journos Gregg Evans, Ashley Preece, John Percy, Tom Collomosse.
Sky Sports:Dharmesh Sheth, Kaveh Solheko and Rob Dorsett,
BBC WM radio: Mark Regan
TalkSport: Villa contacts and news Jim White and Alex Crook, Gabby Agbonlahor.

Got some bad news for you about Radio WM and Rego.'

And Ashley Preece. I can’t quite believe that Foresight Footy didn’t foresee Ash sacking the Villa off to go back to the news desk, and even more amazingly, didn’t even know about it after it was announced. Say it ain’t so oh wise one!

And Ashley Preece.

Ashley Preece said himself that he had no ITK contacts whatsoever and that the weekly manager’s press conference was the only time he got to speak to anyone at the club.

He’s that ITK he reassured everyone that Grealish was staying, less than a week before he signed for City.

John Percy is still active isn't he? Basically last decade I can think of very few transfer links he hasn't confirmed unless it's a Delph case of changing your mind at very last minute.

Liverpool are ‘tipped to launch a stunning raid’ for Jacob Ramsey according to something called ‘Teamtalk’. £50m apparently. Because they can’t afford Bellingham.

I'll get worried when we are "braced for a bid" as I've heard no mention of Liverpool's "transfer war chest".

£50m wouldn't buy his second favourite coffee spoon.

Ashley Preece said himself that he had no ITK contacts whatsoever and that the weekly manager’s press conference was the only time he got to speak to anyone at the club.

He’s that ITK he reassured everyone that Grealish was staying, less than a week before he signed for City.

Any local reporter (or regional reporter for a national) will be the same. Anything they put out will be either opinion/speculation or something the club has approved. They're not ITK, they're being fed info that suits the club. They'll do it because they rely on the goodwill of the staff at the club. They may sometimes get a bit of news from a different source and might run with it but generally they'll check in with the club first.

Romano is the closest thing to a genuine ITK in the press because he pretty clearly has the ear of a lot of the big agencies and gets fed info from them but again it's still very much about him being given the info that club/player/agent wants to make public.

True ITK is stuff like the guy who used to post about booking in medicals and is pretty rare because it's hard to keep yourself 'secret' for long if you're giving out info like that.

With Emery and Almery, I believe we'll be looking at some big outlays that meet release clauses as well as perhaps a shrewd free transfers or two.

I'd check the latest on that if I were you.

Yet another example of the imaginary and legendary foresight and expertise he endlessly drones on about.

Perhaps his ‘in the knows’ didn’t erm… know.

Maybe he's a big Paul McCartney (featuring Stevie Wonder) fan. Paul, not Stevie. Wouldn't surprise me.

Even if Almery comes in later in the summer I do think some big moves will be made.
Be interesting if there's been a conflict on what transfers Villa and Barca want and there has been a gentleman's agreement so for now I can see Almery staying at Barca.

What it the fact that Emery said he wasn't coming that gave it away?
