I may have posted this before I can't remember but a bit of uninteresting trivia about Jimmy White.  He was over here doing a tour playing exhibition matces etc, fell ill and he had his appendix removed in the hospital in our little town.

And survived.

My Mrs nearly didn't after having hers removed there.  Locum surgeon.  She was opened up twice more after the original op, safe to say they got rid of said bloke fairly sharpish as there were other issues with him.

They found a bloke in there?

Prediction: Even without a European football, I believe we will spend at least £150 million.

Fact: West Ham spent over £160 million in the summer, including record moves and the signings of an international Moroccan defender, an international Brazilian midfielder and an international Italian striker, all of whom cost £30 million or more. They also signed 2 PSG players.

This sort of business is going to be done by Villa in the summer
With Emery and Almery, I believe we'll be looking at some big outlays that meet release clauses as well as perhaps a shrewd free transfers or two.
There could well be general big money signings but I suspect be looking at a willingness to meet release clauses and paying for high end out of contract players. Other clubs won't or can't match us.

I'd check the latest on that if I were you.

Yet another example of the imaginary and legendary foresight and expertise he endlessly drones on about.

Perhaps his ‘in the knows’ didn’t erm… know.

So basically you think that any literal possible transfer situation may occur? Incredible insight, please lay more on us

Jimmy White the snooker player is more ITK than Jim White.

The only thing I know about Jimmy White (before my time) is that he lost, what, 7 world title finals? What I don't know is, did he bottle many of them? Or was he always just outplayed?

Main reason is he liked to party. A lot. It's actually quite an achievement he did what he did considering he was reaching world finals, winning other titles while rarely practicing and being out at clubs during tournaments, addicted to crack etc.

Ah right, cheers for the insight. My little knowledge of historical snooker players only had Alex Higgins and Bill Werbeniuk as party people. Although I guess back then loads of them enjoyed themselves.

I think a few of the first wave of snooker 'superstars' that came up throughout the late 70s/80s were partial to a crack pipe, and Bolivian produce more broadly.

Just like to add also that Jmmy White is a bit of a party animal, He spends a lot of time now in Thailand in a place called Pattaya which has a nickname Sin city.
He plays alot in tournaments or shows in Bangkok or Pattaya.

Yes   I can understand needing to find some relief from the sheer drudgery of playing snooker all day.
