Most of the links at the moment seem to be coming from Football Insider or similar fake football journalists.

I'd say the only very likely one we've seen would be Guendouzi.  For most of the others it's Jao Felix territory.

The link to Asensio is in that long piece from the Athletic in thread about Alemany

Yeah, there's definitely some value to be had from them this summer, though you need to tread carefully as some players may be broken beyond redemption. Some of those lads have had to endure two spells of Lampard's management and in Mount's case, three.

The other thing is, by buying the likes of Gallagher or Mount, you'd be massively helping them out FFP wise. They've maxed out the credit card with all their insane purchases, so their only way out is by selling players, and homegrown ones would be all profit.

Good point. Kind of the reverse of Citeh killing us by signing our best players, we kill Chelsea by not signing any of their players.

But the flip side of that is that £30m received for a homegrown player is worth WAY more to them, than £30m on a player they bought for £20m. I'm not sure there will be any bargains to be had, but if their FFP issues are real, and they absolutely HAVE to ditch a few, then I'd imagine you could get quite aggressive on the purchase of a homegrown player as it's all upside for them.  It's not like them turning down £40m for Sterling because it makes no dent in their FFP position. Selling one Gallagher probably means as much in FFP terms and selling 2 or 3 of their recently purchased players.

I've no problem buying from Chelsea and helping them with FFP if the players are good, and the price is reasonable.  It's not like there won't be other takers if we turn our noses up at "helping" them.

The only consideration should be , is it the right player for us?
If its not in terms of prices, wages, ability and need we should move on.
I don't think we will be buying Chelsea players anyway.

My biggest problem with signing players from Chelsea right now is what their attitude will be. Things have been so fucked there that I suspect a few players will need a few months to sort their heads out wherever they go, I'd be very cautious signing anyone from them this summer. I suspect there will be some very interesting auto-biographies in a few years as a result of this season.

That's the thing: there won't be 'value' to be had because they'll be seeking top dollar, regardless of player-performance and potential.

That would be my biggest concern too. That place is a proper mess.

We’ve got a brilliant Spanish coach who knows La Liga inside out, a Spanish scout with the same knowledge, a transfer ‘fixer’ that we’ve clicked our fingers at and stolen from Barcelona, a club in Portugal, an academy that seems to be working well, and we can afford 99% of footballers in the world outside the PL.

Fuck solving Chelsea’s problems.

Saw Manuel Ugarte being linked with us today, and while I think he'll end up at Liverpool or Arsenal, that's a 100% yes from me if we can pull it off.

Asensio and Torres right and left, wouldn’t be too shabby would it?

Depends on who's in the centre.

I'd be interesting in this exciting young French striker Olivier Ouattequinnes.

Nope - dont get it?

A Mendes client I understand.  Hopefully, we have greased his palms.
