Phillips is quality. The only player I've seen do a proper job on Villa's Grealish (post Dean coming in).

Also, he is really good higher up the pitch, winnning it high and releasing it quick (how he played in the Euros). We need depth now, he, Luiz and Kamara for two slots feels very strong to me. England regular too.

AWB feels like an Emery player too. I like Cash but he does have a tendency to be rash and get caught with a long diagonal over the top.

Know nothing about Salisu.

Phillips injury record since the Euros is a massive red flag….sure Unai will have plenty of other options from Europe who are comparable ability wise.

Wan-Bissaka is a decent call, sure right back is a position we will look at

Salisu was highly rated earlier in season (in a truly dreadful side)  but sure I’ve read that he has been left out recently because of his attitude…if that’s the case he can stay and stink them out.

Aaron Wan Bissaka at Man Utd being watched apparently.....

So too Mohammed Salisu at Southampton..

AWB is awful, Carlos Cuellar was more comfortable on the ball. Hope there is no truth in that link.

Luiz, SJM and Kamara are all doing fine for us.  If one or more of them could up their goals scored a bit it would be great.  If we can find someone, for sake of argument JWP, who is as good and scores goals then they have to be considered.

That's the thing.  When we play the flat four across the midfield, McGinn, Kamara, Luiz and Ramsey look well balanced and when we play with a wide player on the right, whichever three from those four are picked have done well as well.

Dendoncker covers Kamara and Luiz, but we don't really have anyone who can play the roles McGinn and Ramsey play, so cover might be needed there.  Funnily enough, those roles might suit Sanson, but think we have probably seen the last of him.
Luiz is very good in that role and I think Kamara could be too.  So would Guendouzi, that's why I feel he'd be such a good signing, we'd have three very versatile midfielders giving cover for both positions.

He's been getting games there, cost them £50m and will be on Man Utd wages. I don't see much value to be had there.

He’s a decent defender, quick and strong in the tackle, but going forward he doesn’t fit the Emery way at all.

I don't rate AWB at all.  It's all about ability going forward with full backs these days and he doesn't have an ounce of it.

Emery does seem to like having a bit of an asymmetrical shape...Moreno bombing down the left but the right back being more disciplined and making a back 3 at times.

I was going to mention this but I've got my work cut out elsewhere and didn't want to open another front.

What I'd quite like is for us to add a few options so we can flip that shape, rather than ones that push us further down the same tactic.

Also agree with this.

Yeah, ideally we would have one attack-minded right back, one that's more defensive and same again on the other side and repeat that further up the pitch.

I still think Emery will look to Spain for players used to the slower possession-based style. We can expect more like Moreno.

I definitely think he will.

I remember vinnie on here saying he really, really wanted Pau Torres. That wouldn't surprise me at all.

I hope he doesn't push too hard at that deal.

I wouldn't worry, the man is in command.
