I would touch Phillips, think he is a modern day owen hargraves - good player but will be too expensive and too injured.

I would like JWP, his goal contribution per season for a struggling team is massive, he works hard, is rarely injured and can play in various positions.

Luiz, SJM and Kamara are all doing fine for us.  If one or more of them could up their goals scored a bit it would be great.  If we can find someone, for sake of argument JWP, who is as good and scores goals then they have to be considered.

Exactly and if we are going to play a lot of games we certainly need quality in depth.

Phillips, when fit, is an excellent player whom Man City didn't need. But his price will dictate that he's the main signing for whichever club decides to come in for him. I think we've got other positions I'd rather spend money on. Presumably he'll be Declan Rice's replacement.

Fuck them both.

Ward-Prowse & Philips had their chance at joining the Villa revolution.

We have moved on from them now.

I hope they both enjoy the beds they chose to sully...

I don’t think they had the chance unless a bid was accepted, and I’m not going to slag anyone for staying at their club, given the history of some of our snakes.

Phillips is a yes from me if we are in Europe. With injuries and suspensions, those two positions are too important not to have quality cover. We've seen McGinn do well there, but he is much more effective further forward.
Guendouzi would be better and probably less expensive.

No, Phillips is doing great at Lee... Oh, warming the bench in manc.

I don't blame players for staying at their club either xi just wish more would.

That sir, is a fair point...

I still think fuck him though. Just because I think he is overrated because he can take a set piece... Other than that, he is John McGinns average form in a skinnier & slower package... Im sure he is a lovely fella though, so I wish him luck at Southampton...

That's the thing.  When we play the flat four across the midfield, McGinn, Kamara, Luiz and Ramsey look well balanced and when we play with a wide player on the right, whichever three from those four are picked have done well as well.

Dendoncker covers Kamara and Luiz, but we don't really have anyone who can play the roles McGinn and Ramsey play, so cover might be needed there.  Funnily enough, those roles might suit Sanson, but think we have probably seen the last of him.

I agree, we definitely need higher level cover in midfield. Dendonker 'does a job' but he's not good enough.

Phillips is quality. The only player I've seen do a proper job on Villa's Grealish (post Dean coming in).

Also, he is really good higher up the pitch, winnning it high and releasing it quick (how he played in the Euros). We need depth now, he, Luiz and Kamara for two slots feels very strong to me. England regular too.

AWB feels like an Emery player too. I like Cash but he does have a tendency to be rash and get caught with a long diagonal over the top.

Know nothing about Salisu.

How long ago was that?
