I really hope Emery goes back to Villarreal for Chukwueze. He's exactly what we need to replace Bailey.

JWP seems quite a long way ahead in terms of goals, crosses and interceptions.

I’m not convinced he would be a good signing though, regardless of whether he is a marginal improvement on what we’ve already got in the first team. Without checking his contract status, I think he would be too expensive, and with too little re-sale value.

Some press rumours that we're after Kalvin Phillips? Really? I think he's overrated, overweight and injury prone. Apparently, he still hasn't actually started a game for Citeh! No thanks.....

I’d possibly take him on loan, and paying a proportion of his wages, if we did make the Europa League. I wouldn’t want him to block the pathway for Iroegbunam though, and I don’t want us to be solving other teams’ expensive mistakes for them.

A year ago I would have thought what a signing. Now - no thanks. He has lost his mobility and hence his decision making has suffered.

Providing Boubs and DL remain, it's not an area we're short in.

Just checked the goal stats for JWP and it’s a good mix of pennos, free kicks and open play.

I feel like McgIniesta could get more goals. He has the ability to. With the midfield functioning better I hope he a) finds himself in positions to take good shots more regularly and b) has more confidence to take the right sort of shot in each situation.

JWP is 28 now and you could query why no-one has took him.

I'm a bit mixed on that one.  I think he's a good player but I wonder if the price tag and wages has gone to his head and he doesn't feel he has to try as hard for City as he did for Leeds.   I'm also not sure if he has the sort of mobility that Unai is after.

Must say I suspect Phillips would be excellent for us.

I know next to nothing about European teams or players.
I suspect Emri knows a lot more and that  these players will be the ones in his  sights rather than overpriced English players  surplus to requirements at their current teams.

On loan, I think Philips would be a very shrewd signing.  It’d signal the end of his England career but that’s not our problem.

It's about adding quality options though and although I like both of them, if one of those of those two are out it's either Dendoncker or Chambers.

He's not going to swap their bench for ours.

He was terrible for Leeds the season before he left too.
