Hopefully a convincing performance and win.  If we achieve that and some of those directly above us lose, the table will start to look interesting.

Was our last win against them the Gestede winner at the start of 2015/16?

Hopefully we do it this time,  although they've played well in their last 2 matches.

yep, 4 defeats in a row since, one of a few teams that have just relied on physically overpowering us since we came back up.

Didn't know where to put this, so put it here.

Today on Countdown (I know) Pat Nevin said that Villa Park had the biggest 'playing area' in the Premier League. Craven Cottage has the smallest.

There is approximately 850 meters of extra playing space between the two pitches!!

I found that stat amazing.

As we play half of our matches at home, we must really utilise the extra space to our advantage!!

Pat seems to be incorrect on this one. https://worldsoccertalk.com/news/top-20-biggest-pitches-in-the-premier-league-20071022-CMS-1048.html

Didn't seem right to me that Villa Park had the biggest pitch as I was sure it would have come up before.

On a technical point, they did yards. I believe it equates to about 700m². About the size of a penalty area. And a bit.

Cheers Brazilian Villa, I think your link is a bit out of date. Hull, Swansea, Stoke, Cardiff etc

We need a resident statistician to check this out.

You know anyone?

Thanks Lastfootstamper, I stand corrected.

https://sqaf.club/premier-league-pitch-sizes/

This seasons pitch dimensions, numbers seem to be about right compared to what Nevin said.

Cheers Paul_e.

Two thirds of pitches are about the same size. Thanks Pat Nevin, for nothing!!
