Bournemouth have a very small stadium to be associated with the Premier League. Fact.

The region doesn't seem to have the same high level and interests to football as other areas of England

Yes they historically haven't achieved so much.
I think the climate,  geographic and other interests and culture of the area coast sets them away from being a Football powerhouse.
I think the very fact Brighton are achieving in their project as the owner targeted gap in the region of England. Less competition in the area and close to London

Their owner is a Brighton fan, born in Brighton and whose grandad was a director of the club.

We need to win this to keep our top half plans alive and to keep up the general progress

It would also be good to bury that hideous start to this season.

Think it will be tight, think well play well but not make it comfortable - probably a 1 nil win

Ideal game for Carlos to return if reasonably fit for 60-70 mins. I don't fancy Konsa's chances against some of their cloggers anyway in the physical contests which they will target. Stick Carlos in next to Mings and see how he goes. Can always swap him out for Konsa late on. Same for the Donk too, he can deal with Bilings and let Luiz focus on getting us playing. Cash was so bad he should be dropped, they will target those cross field balls into the channel all day otherwise.

Match them physically and our quality will tell. 2-0 win. Wouldn't mind seeing Traore given another spin, hopefully has passed out Bailey as likely first attacking sub.

-------------Martinez
Young, Carlos, Mings, Moreno
-----------Luiz, Donk
McGinn, Buendia, Ramsey
-----------Watkins

Drop Bailey.
We should be winning this game.
Won’t be pretty.

I am over for this game and am meeting a college mate who is  Bournemouth fan. I am going to suggest the Sacred Heart Club for a pint which I have always found friendly enough and I think I have seen away fans in there. Where would be a good place for him to park? Is there anywhere closer than Star City? I park down beside Motorpoint but it is a bit hit and miss. He has two kids with him so needs somewhere that will defffo have a space. Appreciate any pointers here

The Power League is closer than Star City, but you’d still be the wrong side of VP for the Sacred Heart, and would be looking at a good half an hour walk at least. Do King Edward’s School do match day parking, as that’s close by? That whole side is a right nightmare after the game.

King Edward’s has been season ticket only a while now so you won’t get in there. Try Just Park to park on someone’s driveway, there’s a few over that side near Aston High Street, still a bit of a walk and still a bit of a mare after the match.

If driving id normally park on Moor Lane under the motorway, about a 25 min walk, but once there you get away pretty quickly. Problem with parking by the ground in the side roads by the Heart, is getting away after, its taken me 90 mins back to Sutton in the past. It depends how long your going to stay in the Heart after i suppose. Its my lads bhday this weekend and im taking him and his mates to the cinema in star city after the game, so ill be parking there before the game, bit of a walk there and back. If you see a grump middle aged man walking with 6 or 7 lanky teenagers after the match, its me.

It's an interesting topic, footy. I suspect there's a number of factors, you're probably right that having a warmer climate and sunny beaches probably has had an effect the development of the game. Perhaps more so would be the high population density in the more industrialised areas, improvements in working conditions giving those workers more usable time off, and the development of the rail network making it easier to travel longer distances in a reasonable timeframe (something I suspect would've stunted the growth of the game in the south-west - simply that it wasn't feasible for Bournemouth-based players to travel to away matches against Burnley for most of the 19th century)

Again, I'd not overplay any of these. I suspect there's loads of factors, including simply having the right people in the right place at the right time.

The club are now advertising pre-bookable parking at that huge warehouse 'Y International' just off Aston Hall Road. £10.

I'd also suggest there's a conflict between 'less competition in the area' and 'close to London'.

I thought he'd agreed last weekend that he was going to try to throw a bit less digital diarrhea around, but here we are with it splattered all over the very next match thread.
