79% going for a Villa win, which is slightly concerning  as more often than not, when that happens, it seems to me, it doesn't turn out that way. Anyway, with not a lot of confidence still going for a Villa win 2-1.

On Bournemouth recent form well I have a developed theory, they had to step up their game and appreciate the opportunities to play against Arsenal and Liverpool, and they were able to deliver unexpected performances and outcomes. They won't be able to work at their best because they will be worn out. Liverpool had their sights set on Madrid, so they had an early start at the other end of the nation.

With a 3 p.m. kickoff at the magnificent Villa Park and Unai demanding a performance and implementation of his plan, there is really only one possible outcome.
Between Emery and their inexperienced manager, I believe there can be only one winner today. By theory the experienced manager at a regular kick off time at home will comfortably win.
I care more about performance than the final result
Although I believe there is a chance for five goals and two to three from Watkins.

I'm hoping we overcome the curse of Rob Jones, as Villa never ever have won a Premier League match when he is the referee.
But it's the performance that is most of interest to me

Up The Villa!

Hi Footy-Vill, the last 10 times we have played a newly promoted team we have only won twice!! Pathetic.

I trust Unai will set this right. Today, I would settle for 3 points regardless of the performance.
This is the first match for Emerys Aston Villa against a newly promoted side. Signs are good for a positive scoreline.

Unai Emery record at home vs promoted teams premier league
played 4 won 3 draw 1 Scored 10 Against 5.

1-1 Wolves
4-1 Fulham
2-1 Cardiff
3-2 Aston Villa

Unai Emery record against Bournemouth at home
Played 2 Won 2
1-0 and 5-1

The away game v Bournemouth was Ashe. I gave up the any small remaining hope that Gerrard might suceed with us.

A win today would be a great way to show that we’re on a much different path.

Wouldn’t mind seeing Duran up front for a longer spell today - maybe starting.

I'm going to Chelsea v Villa through a contact. I always find their ground very small and I think it isn't fit for Champions League. Villa Park is far superior.

Enjoy the game (and London). Just don't do one of those vlogs. ;)
Thank You.
I have a suspicion that Emery may declare back 3 and wing backs to match Chelsea formation for that game. Diego Carlos would be primed and all the players during international break given instruction on implementing it. Just a theory no ITK.

If we lose, you should go on the post-match thread and say this.

Was just reminded via Twitter of the line-up Gerrard picked for this fixture on the opening day of the season. Incredible he had all summer and came up with that.
