re the penalty I often find myself wondering why so many people think a player having touched the ball means it automatically isn’t a foul.

In this case, he didn't touch the ball anyway though.

I don't think the Watkins one was a penalty. Watkins got his shot away, Pickford made the save (probably not with the body part he intended), striker and goalkeeper collided. Without wishing to give my age away, if they start giving fouls for those, never mind penalties, we might as well all pack it in.

Yes I think the ref got both calls spot on.

Yep, clear pen on McGinn and good save from Pickford.

Watching MOTD and Emi Martinez saved us several times, & so did Mings off the line.
What a great match, all before the penalty.

Fab stuff, well done Ollie!

Mings’ pass to Kamara, to McGinn and to Buendia for the goal was a lovely move.

I’m pretty sure when they were talking about McGinn and JJ the picture behind them was of Aaron Ramsey not Jacob.

They did!  It was late though, so thought I'd imagined it.

Still no idea how that plank Richards has got some many media jobs, absolutely zero to say, just a jester.

I don't know who the commentator on motd was, sounded like he'd won a raffle to have a go at it.

Sounded a bit like Mark Lawrenson, which isn't a compliment.

Imagine getting shot of that anti woke muppet to GB news or whatever and ending up a younger, even more insipid version.

It was a good win but still giving up too many chances and good positions to the opposition, but don't care about that at the moment we just needed the win.
watching the MOTD highlights,it gives the impression that it was all Everton first half, but watching sky highlights gives a fairer view of the first half

If Pickford was an outfield player making that challenge, a penalty is given as he has made contact with Watkins before the ball.
Don’t know why refs, ref goalkeepers differently.

Albeit not in the media, but I know a fair few people that seem to have confused 'being loud' with 'having a personality'.

Along with 'growing a beard' and 'saying your name but drawing out the last syllable each and every fucking time you walk past them'.

…. But we were effectively playing with 10 men until Bailey went off. That liability cannot be underestimated either.

That was the part that I found exacerbating.  I’m all for giving a player a fair run, but he’s been stinking the place out for weeks.  He has to start on the bench on his recent performances.

You are right Paul. I am not sharp enough to notice that but my 6 year old grandson picked it up. He blurted out “ what the” and said that’s Aaron.

Your grandson is brilliant, mate.

I hope he is well over the loss of that ****** Grealish by now.

No team is going to look good against a team managed by Sean Dyche that is fighting against relegation. We carved out a win and that's all that counts. I haven't seen any highlights yet but I can't wait to hear the explanation for us not getting a penalty in the first half after Pickford assaulted Ollie Watkins. And how was Onana still on the pitch after he picked up an early booking then continued to hack at our players for the whole of the first half? Great result in the circumstances. Long live Unai Emery.

My first away game in a long time!
I now have a 100% record this season, so if there are any spares going for upcoming matches, you know where I am!
Loved it! Glad I got to see Goodison before the move to Lego World, but shocked by how dated it was, with floorboarded terraces, etc!? WTF!!

Doucoure was lucky to get away with a yellow after deliberately smacking Buendia in the face as he was chasing behind him

Just watched MOTD (only the Villa bit)

Danny Murphy's usual appalling punditry was finished off with a large screenshot of Aaron Ramsey when they were discussing Jacob. Doh!
