That Buendia goal wouldn't have counted if it had been at Filbert Street.
 >:( Still bitter after nearly 53 years  >:(

Please explain. Can't be that long since Chris Nicholl got greedy and scored two goals for each side.

We had one bounce out after crossing the line and the officials missed it.

April 1970. Villa are playing at promotion chasing Leicester on a Saturday night and we are on in deep relegation trouble. Pat McMahon shoots, it  goes in hits the back stanchion and bounces straight  back out. Villa celebrate but the ref incredibly says play on thinking its come off the post. Leicester go straight up the other end and put the ball in the net ! Pandemonium ensues and in the end the ref keeps everything at 0-0. While this is all going on at the other end Peter Shilton goes into the back of his goal and wipes the mud mark off the stanchion. Leicester eventually win 1-0. By the following season the design of the goal net has been changed so the same thing can't occur again. Thats all too late for us as by this time we are starting life in Division 3 for the first time in our history.

Great win and great away day.
This sums it up perfectly. But if we all said the same thing the threads would be like Enid Blyton describing 'high tea'.
You see I find Darren’s posts totally absorbing. I look forward to reading them and sometimes make a coffee and sit in my favourite chair and  go through every word  savouring the succinct construction and taking as long as necessary to read.

I’m pretty sure when they were talking about McGinn and JJ the picture behind them was of Aaron Ramsey not Jacob.
You are right Paul. I am not sharp enough to notice that but my 6 year old grandson picked it up. He blurted out “ what the” and said that’s Aaron.

Your grandson is brilliant, mate.

I hope he is well over the loss of that ****** Grealish by now.

Agreed. What regular 6 year-old Villan could spot that?! Knowledgeable with a keen eye for detail, the boy will go far.
Haha…he’s fast becoming my go to person for team updates. I am hoping that in his lifetime he will see us win the FA cup.

Anyone know why millions of OB were waiting for the Bagot coach to get back?

Have you seen the Bagot lately?

Only in passing. Haven’t been in there since the Villains book launch.

You won't be going in any time soon either. I'd say it was a sad loss but I used to have to play their representitive 11 in the Sunday League.

I take it you didn’t wear your socks like Joe?

They looked they'd been designed by Vivienne Westwood by the end of the game
