We started the game well but the playing out from the back with players not having the skillset bought Everton back into the game. We never had a shot on goal in the first half, it was to our good luck that Everton are so shite they wern't capable of taking advantage. We played poorly for most of the game and still won, that's a sign of good things to come.

That Buendia goal wouldn't have counted if it had been at Filbert Street.

Too true

In Everton Dyche has a slightly better version of his old Burnley team.

Wing backs and wingers, big burly centre defenders and midfield but lacks the big bruisers up top.

I thought we were very mixed first half, but we stayed the course a la playing out from the back and trying not to play the long ball.

Good game for Tyrone, Kamara and Dougie, special mention to Ollie and Emi 2.

I thought that Konsa was poor today, so can only hope that when Carlos is fit he and Tyrone strike up a good partnership.

We have a decent spine of a team, but hope the summer brings some real class to help us push for top 8.

We needed the win and we got it. It's always important to end a losing streak. How we play is not important.

An away win vrs a team who have won the last two homes games shouldn’t but sniffed at.
Great win

If my memory serves me correctly Filbert Street had very shallow goals. The ball hit a stanchion at the back of their net and flew out and they went straight up our end and scored.(The last bit may be a false memory).I am sure Shilton later admitted ours had been a goal. I do remember it got a bit lively after the game.

Fantasy Football League recreated a similar incident where a Clive Allen shitpinger got chalked off at Highfield Road.

4 points off 7th place which apparently qualifies for the Europa conference league.

Warning! Reading about how qualification to this competition works will mash your brain !
The fact that you have read it is good enough for me😊

That'll do. Great to see Ollie break the record and fantastic goal from Emi2. onwards!
What record?
No record has been broken. He has equalled Paul Rideout’s record of scoring in 5 consecutive games and hopefully he can break it next week. However according to Sky he has set a Villa record since Football started in 1992.

I don’t think it was a penalty after watching this a few times. I think there was clear contact with the ball .

Don’t think that is the law for the game.

Anyone else noticed that opposing fans now start whistling the second Martinez holds the ball?

“I got the ball” is such a lame defence by players. You got the ball because you committed a foul you morons.

It’s the law of Sunday league, or at least it was when I played. It also seemed to do the trick up until maybe the late 90s in profesh football. Not sure if the law changed or refs are just better, generally.

Only seen the result.

Went on the piss surrounded by egg chasers in boot cut jeans and brown loafers.

Still, I got to cheer a Welsh try and a Villa result.

I’m not Welsh.

He’s done that to himself
