The only time I wasn't too disappointed was 1988

We gave them a right go
We played well
They were head and shoulders above everyone that season and we were 2nd Tier
They needed 2 quality goals to beat us

The atmosphere was incredible - a sell out even though on the telly, as we used to say. I always see it a ore-cursor to the Bradford game 3 months or so later. The Holte was Bloody Noisy

It's incredible to think that was the only capacity crowd we had between the Stripeys in 1991 and Spurs in 1993.

I remember a conversation with you Mr Woodhall some years ago when you told me that was the first post League triumph sell out. Assume you mean Albion  81.

We must have been near sell out post promotion to Liverpool and ManU pre Spurs in 1993.

Sorry; it was 1981. And now there's a thing, because checking on Wikipaedia the font of all knowledge the gate against Manchester United was higher, as was Liverpool, yet Spurs was definitely a sell-out, which the others (from memory) weren't.

I’m pretty sure Liverpool in 90/91 was a sell-out. 0-0 draw?

That Liverpool game was the most packed I'd ever known on the Holte End. As a kid I found it a bit scary to be honest, was used to having the run of the place when a gate over 20,000 was seen as big.

For that Liverpool game, they had the normal away allocation behind the goal and the whole of the old Witton Lane. Never seen so may appalling track suits.

Free for season ticket holders. Nice touch. Hopefully the other tickets are reasonably priced also

Yep, any season ticket holders out there do need to claim their ticket though, it isn't automatically loaded.

I assume it's because of this.

The fixture has been selected for extended highlights by the BBC, as well as live distribution overseas.

The bunch of BBC but not on telly matches are a disgrace. They're ruined FA Cup Third Round day.
